Time machines / by Carol Cunningham.

This little book is about clocks (aka machines for telling time) and not, as I first thought, about machines for traveling through time!

It includes a brief history of keeping track of time, starting with the position of the sun.

Can this book help you from losing track of the days at the beginning of the new semester? Probably not, but there are some lovely examples of time telling devices!

I just plain fucking missed those early Ty Segall records, I truly did. There was an amazing line of great diy, is-my-speaker-broken noisy kind of records coming out around the time ‘Melted’ came out in 2010 - in case anyone got a retarded case of amnesia, here’s the track you shouldn’t forget from that album

Oceaneater was kind enough to throw in a tiny tribute to Ty as well it seams in the beginning of this track - salutations.

What this - as you’ve probably guessed - brings me around to, is that this GFND tune proves once and for all that someone did build a time-machine! And to all of our luck he had great taste in music and clearly used his new device gloriously - we all know trying to change mankind for the better is a lost cause anyway, or atleast it will take a little more effort than a quick trip back in time to teach some especially ‘challenged’ people about things such as kindness, the environment and that it would probably be a better place if we all just helped eachother a little more.

Well, until we’ve made that happen atleast we still have good music coming out and this is the proof.

There are specific musical scores that when I hear them, I’m transported, not just to the movie, but to the particular time in my life when I saw it.
