Backpackers Tip| 6
It’s cheaper to book a hostel on their own website!
Websites and apps like Hostelworld and Booking.com are very useful when searching for hostels in a specific area or with specific requirements.
Booking the hostel on the hostels own website however, often costs less, because these “middleman” apps/websites charge more for the same rooms so they can make a profit off of it. It’s definitly worth checking!
~We are...?
On my Instagram, @mintchip_cookie - excuse my shameless plug - I posted the different stages of progress I was in at different times with this piece on my story. And after I turned it into my art teacher, I come to school the following day to find out that my piece was chosen among a small few to represent our school in the Annual Howard County Junior Senior Art show. A week or so after that, I found out from attending the show that I had won an award in that show. My piece was recognized and awarded. I would say that this is one of my best pieces. And the people I show it to think its pretty amazing which in turn makes me feel like it’s amazing.
~I kinda like positive feedback
Can I call you unnie ; ; It's me again I am scared to send my job application ><
anonnie, i feel blessed that you want to call me unnie😚😚
step 1: fill out the job application
step 2: attach your cv
step 3: have you written a letter of intent?? have one ready
step 4: have everything attached
step 5: now all you gotta do is press send. close your eyes, have the mouse on the send button, count to three, breathe, press the button. if you can’t do it yourself maybe get a friend or family member or even the most random person to press that send button. the worst thing that’ll happen is that you won’t get a response back, but that’s all part of applying to jobs. don’t let it discourage you. keep on trying, no matter if you get a call back right away or in a few weeks from now, it’ll happen
Tip #6: Networking the Right Way
Every moment that you interact with someone is a potential networking opportunity. How you take advantage of these opportunities can have a major impact on the success of your life as a PR professional.
Here are my main tips for networking:
Carry your business card EVERYWHERE. This shows that you are prepared, professional, ready for follow-up and ensures that whoever you meet will remember you and be able to contact you if needed.
Always ask if someone has a card. "It was so nice meeting with you! I know you have to dash, but do you have a card so that I might follow up with you in the future?" This shows initiative and makes it easy for you to have this person as a professional contact in the future.
Consider every person you meet to be a potential reference. This means, always be on your best behavior. Shake hands (firmly), smile, be engaging, ask questions and be present.
If you take a card or say you'll follow up, FOLLOW UP. If you have no intention of actually being in contact with this person, don't waste a card or their time. Send an email, make a phone call, or better yet, write a handwritten "thank you" note to show that you appreciated their time and valued their opinion.
Networking is the key in this business. It's all about who you know. Establish professional relationships with everyone you can. You never know who might come in handy for your future and who you might be able to help as well. As PR professionals, we owe it to each other to share our experiences with one another and help each other out. Networking is the pathway to do this.
Tip 6:
When doing tosses, or anything really, don’t be scared of the flag. You can throw the flag and run away a couple of times to feel how the toss should be. But after that you can’t be scared of getting hit. If it makes you feel better, put on your imaginary helmet!
~Field Guide~ Tip 6
*Tip 6: Always make sure you have exactly what the teacher is asking for.*
So after I days of thinking I was being awesome by reading an old English version of The Merchant of Venice for my Shakespeare class I realized that I didn't retain any of the actual plot because I was too busy guessing why there's extra "f"s where "s"s should be... Why do I do this to myself? It's like I took it as a personal challenge! Had to be caught up by classmates... Once an idiot always an idiot.
