i feel like i am not effectively conveying how cool it is that Some Guy on the internet was like "yknow what? hollywood's rules and gatekeeping sucks ass actually" and decided to do something about it by hosting a FREE screenwriting contest where writers can just submit a script or even short story to be made into a short film with a full crew that he pays for out of his own pocket.

like. if i was effectively conveying it i feel like the response would be a flood of submissions and not. crickets and 0 notes.

Writing is a journey, and like all journeys, it will have ups and downs. Some days creating will come easily; others you may feel stuck or uninspired. On all days, keep going. Keep writing. If you can only write a paragraph, sentence, or even a single word, it's better than nothing. Be patient with yourself. You are talented and amazing! Your stories will come. Keep writing, keep sharing, and keep believing in all that you are. (And if you're struggling with that right now, know that I believe in you!) 💛

questions to all the writers out there: how do you start writing? do you plan everything before you start? are you a pantser? do you do some level of planning before you start writing and go wherever your fingers take you? how do you stay motivated?

Ugh it’s been over two weeks since I published the last chapter (5), but I’m almost done. Once a week is hard when you finally get to a chapter you haven’t pre-written a word of, as was the case with 6. Spent too much time writing the future sexytimes, and a whole bunch of stuff must happen before we get there.

To all my writer friends:

How do you guys do it so fast???

Also, how do you convey an entire story in one post? That absolutely blows my mind. Seriously.

My already-tremendous admiration for your talents grows and grows every day.

to everyone out there who writes fanfics: it matters. It makes a differences. It might not be internationally-renoved literature but look, you created something and another human being, somewhere on the other side of the globe - or maybe even your neighbour, you may never know, read it and felt whatever you wanted to convey: maybe they are melancholic right now, maybe they laughed out loud or read a line and instantly needed to share it with a friend, maybe they feel warm and fuzzy and giddy inside thanks to your story, maybe you made them cry.

You made them feel it

It matters. It’s real writing.
