To forgive is to understand
Our ability to see beyond hurt encourages emotional growth. When we understand other people’s actions that causes us to feel pain, we may let go of pain. We may never go on to experience life in its entirety, if we don’t let go of resentment. It’s the act of letting go that will allow us to make space for bigger things.
Unfortunately, we tend to hold on to resentment, when others who have hurt us don’t express remorse or accept what they’ve done, but that is something for them to change, or for them to accept that things may never come good with those they’ve hurt.
Although the relationship can never change unless they change it, when we carry the burden, we’re choosing to cause ourselves more pain. By not inflicting our hurt on anyone else, we start to encourage a shift in something much bigger in ourselves. Forgiveness is understanding.
We can forgive, but never forget. A statement, which encourages thinking emotional growth and results in our ability to simply let go.

Colossians 3;13
This, by far, has got to be one of the hardest things we have to do. Yet in the end, its the most rewarding.
