🌈 I went to Tokyo Pride 2026! ✨️

The other day, I went to an event called "Tokyo Pride 2026" with my mom! (An LGBTQ+ event)

Through this event, as someone who is both an LGBTQ+ individual and a supporter, I felt like I was being told, "You're not alone" and it was a great opportunity to reconsider diversity ☺️🌸

I also participated in the "Pride Parade" held on the same day, and it was fun walking with everyone. I felt like I was able to participate while expressing my own individuality (,,> <,,)

(However, my legs were quite sore from muscle pain… 🙃🦵)

I want to go again next year with my family! 🌈

According to the organizers, 10,000 people were expected to take part in this year’s march, with more than 180,000 participating in the festival itself.

“Tokyo has celebrated equality for all with the annual Tokyo Rainbow Pride parade on 28 April.

Thousands of members of the LGBTI community and allies took to the streets of Shibuya Ward, in the capital of Japan.

The first Tokyo Pride was in 1994

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first LGBTI event in Tokyo. It was, in fact, 1994 when the first Pride took place.

Japan has come a long way since then. However, there is still no nationwide recognition of same-sex relationships, whereas some cities offer symbolic partnership certificates.”

so basically pride was a blast ! tokyo pride is always such a great environment to be in. went to two ftm magazine booths today and that made me feel great! also we snuck into the parade and walked into it, got a wristband at some point. walking from harajuku to shibuya and back while being surrounded by members of a community i love is the most powerful i’ve felt in a long while.
