MY RAMBLES ON FEM! HICCUP

so, as I was scrolling through my favorite app (Pinterest my beloved), I found an actress that caught my attention. I have been thinking about the httyd live action lately, and the choices for casting. I personally think that Fem! Hiccup wouldn't be just the canon him with tits (even though it's easier to draw it like that), and some facial features wold be a bit different.

I mean, look at Stoick. he's a heavy and burly man, with huge arms and lots of muscle and fat, and his beard is so full we can't even see the real shape of his face. Valka, on the other hand, is a lean, tall woman with a very marked face structure (kind of a triangle lol). Canon Hiccup's face is "rectangular", and his facial expressions mirror Valka's, though his jaw and stuff probably took more after his dad. BUT he has the high cheekbones and the curve of the nose of his mom.

His hair is dark auburn, looking more like the brown of his mother's hair, which makes him his parents son, with similarities that are painfully remarkable.

But if he was a female, how would his live action version look like?

I like to draw Fem! Hiccup with lighter hair, to look more like Stoick's. Doing that, she takes a form of a daughter that a chief would not want (to foment the daddy issues😝) and the "lost potential". She would have been the "perfect heir" if she were a boy, a boy strong and brave like her father.

But no, she has almost everything of her mother's appearance and the fiery hair of a family that will no longer carry the leadership of the island, because she's not a man to pass on the last name. That way, Hiccup and his female version are still the village's doom.

Can you see the vision? Teen Hiccup had this rounded face and cheeks, he was a kid like come on. But he grows up and his face's SERVES. Those two ladies are my thoughts on Hela (Fem! Hiccup).

Can't sleep, still thinking about how Joe was originally a stand in for Tong and then Tong became the stand in when a Ming realized who he loved and now the full circle of Joe being his own stand in has come only Joe had no idea because Ming is so damaged and fucked up and hurt him so deeply that their communication is impossible right now and instead of seeing Ming as chasing what they had and waiting for the man he loved Joe just sees what broke his heart in the first place and now the story is about what happens when you're too close to the issue to see anything but also truly about can you repent from shattering someone's heart, can you perform kintsugi in someone's heart when you're the one who broke them in the first place?

About Melian and Thingol

Tldr : writing Thingol and Melian names in Daeron's cirth and having too much artistic symbolic, not really serious with this.

The other day I was thinking about Middle Earth writings, particulary sindarin writings. Yes I have a soft spot for sindarin. And the logical evolution was to write some things in it, using tengwars before remembering it's Noldo.

So, I looked at cirths : Daeron's cirth.

My objective was not at all to erase tengwar, it was of thinking about how elves had written without tengwars.

And I start with obvious names : Thingol. I only wrote Thingol, and made the first rune (th) in bold.

Why I didn't write "Elu" ? Because I consider it like another name. At the start, it was Elwë. Then he took the name Greycloak. (I do the same analogy with Luthien Tinuviel). There is no need to use both at the same time. "Elu" is the old staying part in sindarin and "Thingol" his new name/title. I consider I can use Thingol all alone, like I can use Tinuviel.

Then, I wrote Melian.

Before checking her names. And in Doriathrin, Melian is named Tóril. I don't really know if I want to add importance to this name, but technically, I decided to use her doriathric name for this (it doesn't fit without it). The first rune (T) in bold.

So ? Do you see it ? That's the same rune mirrorred. That's normal because that's the same sound but modified (ask liguists about this, I don't really understand all the implications).

I don't know if Tolkien had done it with meaning : their names or how to write in in their language. But I find it fun !

And this is even more funny because in the other way, that's making an M (only in our latin writing, I'm not gonna lie) And I saw doors : Menegroth's doors.

And well there was also some ramblings during this : like them proudly using their runes together (they can make cat's ears together).
