little comic I made as a kinda part 2 to my other trans Rumi comic, here she is coming out to the girls! very much inspired by Inner Demons by Quintilius, go read it its awesome!!!

While I’m not a trans-Rumi truther, I like the premise because the idea of Celine accepting her right away so they could seal the Honmoon is too fucking funny.

Kid Rumi: Celine, I thought about it and I think I’m actually a girl.

Celine: Thank the fucking gods, my prayers have been answered.

Kid Rumi: You’re not mad?

Celine: Rumi, I don’t care if your trans, do you wanna get rid of your patterns? Seal the Honmoon? Turn it gold?

Rumi: Well yeah, of course I do!

Celine: Then put your big girl pants on, Rumi. It’s time to form a girl group.

Hey I just met you and this is crazy but I'm pregnant and it's your ba-- oh you're married. Fuck.

That modern AU (featuring polyamory and trans!Rumi) where Zoey and Rumi are stuck working together, both away from where they normally live now staying in air B&B's and hotels while they're on a project. It's how they meet.

Where hook ups happen and it's just casual sex blowing off steam after work here and there. No feelings, nope none at all that's not happening. Rumi back to the city she normally lives in and it's fine. Then oops um unplanned pregnancy and terribly timed realization of feelings, Zoey going to confess to both feelings and pregnancy, but it's not Rumi who opens the door at her rental it's uh her wife? Her really very amazingly gorgeous wife who's holding their toddler who might just be the most adorable toddler Zoey's ever seen in her life.

Fuck.

Okay apparently she missed some information here that she learns rapidly about open relationships as even Mira chastises Rumi for not talking through EVERYTHING before starting anything with anyone and offers Zoey something to drink.

Zoey, deciding the right and proper good thing to do with all of this is to tell the truth to just hide the fact she's pregnant for now, lie through her teeth and go about her life. It's not like they'll all be in the same town for long right? Right.

And even if they DO happen to be in the same place for a long time and even if she IS falling head over heels for both of them and they are all hanging out together all the time it's not like it MEANS anything. She's just a-- a friends with benefits duh. Maybe just a normal friend. There's absolutely no way they might feel the same way about her, that'd be crazy.

Her telling anyone anything about paternity's just going to ruin everyone's life so it's just her and the bat ("I can nickname my kid what I want. And it's currently hanging upside down in the dark for the next few months so bat.") for the foreseeable future and that's totally gonna kill her break her heart be okay.

Featuring idiots who don't do math and it genuinely does not occur to Rumi (who is grouchy, and sulky, and possessive as fuck) that Zoey's baby might be hers cause duh they used protection and it was just 'casual' so that means Zoey probably dated other people and all.

Mira, coming up with excuses to hang around their job, get Zoey over to their place, spend any time at all with Zoey because oh shit no she's cute, and funny. (Including volunteering handmedowns and pregnancy advice with only a little less jealousy than Rumi shows.)

Rumi, about two steps away from punching the next male presenting person to smile at Zoey or be smiled at by Zoey because she's jealous (of herself unknowingly) and her 15 step plan to convince Zoey into a triad is apparently not working damn it.

Optionally, a third party being the one to do the math first. Like Celine, at toddler's birthday party, working out 1) when Rumi and Zoey met and 2) just when Zoey's due. but NOT realizing Rumi and Mira have no fucking clue.

[Truly though you could switch out Zoey and Rumi role wise and it'd still work in the best way because they're both just that level of thinking that they're too much or not loved 'in that way' when they are and overthinking the little details while not seeing the big picture. Mira's too aware to just 'yeah I'm hiding who's baby this is' about things. She's gotta be our smart one.]

Forcefemmed Rumi AU

Celine raises Rumi to be a girl from the start, she doesnt even wait for Rumi to express wanting to be a girl she just does it. “No kid of Mi-Yeong’s mine is going to be a useless boy. She will be a hunter like her mothers before her”

And to Celine’s credit Rumi likes being a girl and a hunter. She likes that she can have her hair braided to be like her mom. she likes that she can summon a sword from thin air and kill demons. she even likes when Celine gives her her weekly “girl vitamins” which all girls take (duh). She always considered herself a girl and never thought otherwise.

So when Rumi finally goes to the bath house with Zoey and Mira after the movie the thing they are most surprised by isn’t her patterns its her penis.

Zoey: Wait you’re trans?

Rumi: Whats that?

Mira: Transgender, like you were born a boy but transitioned to be girl.

Rumi: I’ve always been a girl. 🤨

Zoey: Then why do you have a penis?

Rumi: All girls have that duh.

Zoey and Mira stand up out of the water with a clear lack of penis.

Rumi: Are you both transgender?

Zomira: 🤦‍♀️

One quick biology lesson and few realizations about her childhood later Rumi spirals into an identity crisis. Was she supposed to be a boy? Was she not even supposed to be a hunter? So I am just a no good demon after all?

That last one Zomira are quick to stomp out. But her other questions they try to help her find out on her own. Rumi stops taking her girl vitamins (which she now knows is estrogen) and asks Zomira to start using her/him pronouns.

The pronouns feel weird to Rumi but Rumi figures its just part of it being new. Rumi tells Celine they have to talk. Celine is expecting to talk about what happened not Rumi’s gender. The conversation does not go all that great, Celine stands by her decision to raise Rumi as a girl, trying to use the new honmoon as proof. While Rumi is seemingly having a hard time referring to himself(?) as a boy.

Back home Rumi tries to do normal “boy” things but it isnt going so well. Rumi chickens out of getting a short haircut. (sure not all guys like short hair) Rumi tries a binder but that doesn’t feel right either, it feels like he’s (?) hiding a part if himself(?) again. (sure some trans guys might like their chest so maybe Rumi is like that) Rumi stops shaving his(?) legs but seeing leg hair gives Rumi this creepy crawly feeling that Rumi can’t stand. (plenty of dudes shave their legs its totally normal.)

A couple months into their hiatus and Rhmi’s gender crisis, he/him pronouns still feel like sandpaper to Rumi and everything seems more bland. Even Zoey and Mira have lost some of their brightness to Rumi. But he(?) figures its just still new to him(?). But then while talking to zomira breakfast Rumi’s voice cracks and Rumi freaks out. Rumi teleports back to his(?) room and sobs under the covers. A minute later Zomira comes in to comfort Rumi.

Mira: Hey Rumi can we talk.

Rumi pokes his(?) head out from under the covers and nods yes.

Zoey: Did the voice crack freak you out?

Rumi nods his(?) head yes again.

Mira: Is it because it reminds you of the golden release?

Rumi shakes his(?) head no.

Mira: Then what is Rumi?

Rumi, in a very quiet voice: I don’t want my voice to change.

Zoey and Mira look at each other, the past couple months of Rumi’s gender experiments not ending well and they understand they might need to help Rumi more than they have.

Zoey: We’ve noticed that you really haven't been liking being a boy. You know exploring your gender doesn't mean you have to do things you don't like.

Rumi: I guess...

Mira: You still wince every time we use he/him pronouns. Is it safe to say it bothers you?

Rumi: yea...

Zoey: You know its ok to still be a girl or something else entirely.

Rumi: But you said Celine was wrong for raising me as a girl.

Zoey realizes she should have phrased that better.

Mira: Rumi, I think what Zoey was trying to say is that Celine was wrong for taking the choice away from you. Not that it was wrong for you to be a girl at all.

Zoey: Sorry about that Rumi, I'm not some kind of terf.

Rumi: Whats a terf?

Zoey: You know what, why don't we talk about that another time, right now do you want Mira and I to give you your estrogen shot?

Rumi: You know how to do it?

Zoey: I used to do it for my little sister all the time until she got the hang of it.

Rumi: Your sister is trans?

Zoey, getting Rumi's estrogen ready: Yup, she doesn't like needles so she needed help with her meds. You know you can get progesterone too.

Rumi: What does that do?

Zoey: It makes your boobs bigger among other things. I'm sure your doctor would prescribe you some. Is that something you want?

Rumi nods head yes with vigor

After a few sessions of talking about being trans with Zoey and a call with her sister Rumi decides that she is a trans woman after all. She also wants to talk to Celine again, this time with a plan. And things go much better, Celine has gone to therapy and apologizes for forcefemming Rumi and for making her hide her demon side. Their relationship isn't fixed but its improving. Rumi is done hiding and comes out as trans. It understandably makes a lot of waves until the polytrix announcement a week later.
