I'm really sick of the idea that the only "good" way of transitioning and taking T are by injections and that you'll have less results/slower results with other methods. Stop fucking spreading misinformation. You're not a better transmasc because you use injections. All methods are valid. What's with transmascs and the constant need to be competitive with each other's transition?
EDIT; I'm currently a bit over 5 months on T gel and my transition hasn't been any slower than friends who are taking injections :) pretty happy with the results I have so far too :))
There are literally true stories of wlw taking T out of self-loathing in parties where the substance is circulating and shared as a drug but yeah, gender activism is not at all a threat to us. The story I’ve heard is about a young wlw who was regularly offered leftover T shots from an older trans “friend”, and so rapidly (in the space of 3 to 6 months or something) she transitioned, as if this was a simple fun game with no consequence. When you suffer from homophobia and have problems in your life that all congregates in wanting to escape your body, drinking or taking drugs is something that people do, and apparently taking opposite-sex hormones is a possibility. This girl developed regrets because she’s not seen as a lesbian by other lesbians anymore, the gaze of women toward her have changed. So really, don’t pretend gender activism has not terrible consequences on our people, it does, on the regular. When ppl have mental illnesses and hate themselves because of how society treats them of course this “activism” is taking advantage of them.
Part of my hair is straight and part has the natural curl. I think I may have heat-damaged hair. What can I do for it
I would cut the split ends off as soon as possible because those will just cause your hair shaft to keep spitting until the whole strand is damaged. AS for the straight pieces, you can try protein rich products, but the only real way to fix heat damage (and yours sound relatively severe if your hair has gone from curly to straight) is to cut the hair or let grow out and then cut off the straight pieces....either way, you'll have to cut.
Paris - 2 months and 1 week on T
Hullo, it's your local trans man vibing again just because ~
I’m currently reading this article called “the detransitioners: they were transgender until they weren’t” and this passage really is concerning: “Resources on detransitioning are scarce. Most health-care providers, even those specializing in gender identity, have little experience with detransition. Lara Hayden, program manager at the Seattle Children's Hospital Gender Clinic, told me that while a few patients have stopped transitioning, they've never had a patient fully transition and then transition back.”
This woman called Lara Hayden is working in a gender clinic just for children. And she says how she never had a patient fully transition and then detransition? How is that surprising in any way? She’s talking about kids. They are in these gender clinics only because their parents (with the influence of doctors specialized in that field) decided this way and decided that there is something wrong with the fact that their child is from a certain sex but doing typical activities and wearing typical clothes associated with the other sex. Those children have brains not fully developed and very malleable, in other words: they believe what they’re being told and “explained” by adults, people who are supposed to know better than they do. So of course, Lara, children being told that being a tomboy or a feminine boy is not normal (alias it’s something that justifies being appointed to a gender clinic, thus implying that there is a problem with being gender non-conforming) will grow up from a very young age to the beginning of the adult life thinking that them being trans is their normal self and that there isn’t a physical biological reality to transition back to. I’ve read detransitionned folks who have said these heartbreaking words “i have no home to go back to” the word “home” being a metaphor for their body, their real, non-medicalized body. Truly it kills me to read how so called specialists have no idea how to deal with detrans/ re-identified, it proves how much they don’t care about the well being of these patients who are now lost, and abandoned from a “community” that they thought would care. The reality is far away from that. The only resources are on internet, thanks for other detrans who had the courage to speak up even if they’re being shut down, insulted and deplatformed by the very trans “community” who used to encourage them. This woman, Lara Hayden, knows that children being socially transitioned (change of pronouns, name, etc) is still very new. The medical field is experimenting of these gender non-conforming kids, on what would have been lots of us lesbians and gays if we were children and young teenagers in this day and age, and they have the guts to affirm that they’ve never seen detransitionned patients? How about you seek for them Lara, being they’re ashamed, silenced, afraid to betray those who don’t hesitate to insult them? How about you wait 5, 10 years maximum until you see all the Jazz Jennings becoming adults, finally understanding what’s being done to them, the real consequences?!?
