#TRUTHNUKE ⟢ phainon! 𐔌՞. .՞𐦯 you think it’ll be a nice night with phainon, but you’re wrong ‘cause when is everything supposed to be nice after that event. the groupchat starts exploding and cerydra actually comes online to say something about it. despite that, everything is still falling apart.
Your face is buried in your hands, Phainon’s hand clenching onto his phone tightly, looking like it’ll snap if he continued to hold it like that. Snowy whimpers when he notices the look on Phainon’s face, nudging his head into Phainon’s leg before laying down on his thigh.
“I’m sorry.” You muttered into your hands, looking up at Phainon in the cracks of your fingers. Phainon sighs, the irritation he had on his face disappearing as he drops his phone onto the couch and pulls your hands away from your face, leaning down to place a quick kiss onto your lips.
“I’m not mad at you.” He reassured, not soothing the feelings in your stomach as you placed your head into his shoulder.
He should be. You’d be mad if your partner walked in on you streaming without knocking first, and now the entire world is doing everything in its power to ruin the quiet life you two had. You don’t get how Phainon can stay so composed when around you, or how he never gets mad.
You’d hate to see him being mad at you actually, but the amount of times you’ve been mad at him is in the double digits. Okay, first of all, it’s not much probably, there has only been 11 times that you were actually mad at him and he only has 4. You two don’t argue so that’s why.
“Are you sure? I… It is kinda my fault.” You winced, Phainon sighing heavily and pulling you even closed to him, “It’s not your fault, stop saying that.” You can sense the tired tone in his voice, the guilt inside you growing even larger.
Pulling away, you refused to look at Phainon as you sat up properly, the hand wrapped around your waist dropping. Your hands clenched together in your lap, the thought you’ve always had since he started streaming finally pouring through the walls you had built to cover it.
“Is this… relationship even worth saving?”
You don’t think you’ve heard silence being this loud.
FLASHBACK: BACK IN UNI!
Parties were never your forte.
You liked drinking, you liked talking to people, you liked being drunk with a bunch of your friends. You only hate it because people try to get a moment with your boyfriend, the man whose arms are around your waist and keeping you close so nobody else can steal you away from him.
You hate how people only stay away from you because they’re scared of Phainon, you hate how people don’t respect you enough to do the same. You’re just ‘Phainon’s partner,’ not [N], not anyone but his apparently.
And yeah, they’re right. But now that’s your entire personality and strangers from campus only talk to you about him because you’re his partner.
It doesn’t help that Phainon is oblivious most of the time. He doesn’t realize girls are flirting with him at parties until they ask for his number does he respond by pulling you in and kissing you infront of them. It’s humiliating but it works. You get a kiss like that almost every party and you’re grateful for the people that bother him.
But moments like these do make your blood boil.
“Oh,” The girl talking to Phainon pulls a face when she looks at you, your eye twitching but keeping a small smile on your face. She looks back at Phainon with a smile but you know her blood is boiling, “Them?” Phainon stops mid-sip of his drink and blinks.
“Yeah? What about ‘them’?” He asked, tilting his head with genuine confusion.
The girls shoulders relax a bit, “I just think you deserve better.” She has a smug tone in her voice, eyes flickering to you, just to see how you winced, staring at Phainon through the corners of your eyes.
“I think you should leave.” Phainon leans back onto the couch, pulling you closer with his large hand coming up to rest against your hips, your head laying down onto his shoulder while the screen to your phone lit up your face.
The girl blinked before scowling and stomping off, Phainon barely letting his eyes drift away from you to watch her leave, “I’m sorry.” You hummed, looking up at him through your lashes.
“Do you think this relationship is worth keeping?” You whispered closer to his ear, feeling the grip on your hip tighten. Phainon huffed with a pout, hugging you closer to the point you were sitting on one of his legs, “Come on, Phai.” Your hand moved up to hold one his cheeks, another resting against his shoulder.
“What type of question is that?”
“A reasonable one.”
“It’s not!” He exclaimed into your neck, a laugh leaving you when his breath tickled the skin, “I love youuuu.” He dragged out, placing feathery kisses all around the exposed skin and hearing your giggles beside his ear.
“You’re cute, Phai.” Pulling him away from your neck, you brushed his bangs away from his face to place a kiss onto his forehead, seeing his lips turn into a stupid smile and melt into your, “Yes, I am.” He agreed with you, nodding and letting you pull him into a kiss, your laughter getting muffled when he closed the gap.
Back then, the relationship was stable after an argument had blown up between you two. Girls kept flirting with him and you hated how he lets them chat his ear off meanwhile you’re there. Originally, you had no problem with this, but once you realized he quickly became the University’s dreamboat, that changed.
Phainon didn’t understand why it mattered so much to you until you started crying, pouring out every thought you had whenever you heard people talk about your relationship. The argument didn’t last long, Phainon didn’t want to argue with you and that’s why after you cried, he promised to shut it down faster.
That’s what he did. Sometimes, it took awhile for him to wave them away, but he didn’t want you to feel that way. Not ever, not again.
But it’s different now. The whole world knows you, the whole world hates you, and now, you don’t think this can be fixed with a couple of kisses and apologies anymore.
