Big thanks to @quannumthrows for having me out to the ranch this weekend! It was really impactful to see the @trinity_downwinders in action, demanding justice for our people who have suffered at the hands of a neglectful government. The Valley of Fire territory is a powerful place and the people of this area carry that power gracefully. - @420coldboy & @blobbitty with the solid jams --- #carrizozo #trinitysite #nuclear #newmexico #desert #art #downwinders #installation #southwest #rainbow #colorful #landscape (at Trinity Site) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb-yXUovdeb/?utm_medium=tumblr

Last week was the first time I’d been to New Mexico. One place I’ve always wanted to see is the Trinity Site, where the Manhattan Project detonated the first atomic bomb. I have a morbid curiosity about things like that, where many years ago a peaceful location turned, briefly, into a place of unspeakable destruction. So, even though it added an hour and a half drive back to my hotel, I went in the direction of the Trinity Site. The actual spot is 15 miles from here, and is inaccessible because it is on government property. I didn’t even know if there would be a marker. When I was driving down the road in total darkness, I saw a sign that said “historical marker ahead.” I didn’t see a marker though, but I turned around anyway because I knew I was near the spot. It was shrouded in darkness. I eventually found the interstate in San Antonio, NM. On the day of the test newspapers there noted how the night sky was as bright as noon. I imagine it looked something like this. . . . . #agameoftones #travellife #travelworld #keepexploring #globe_travel #theglobewanderer #roamtheplanet #letsgosomewhere #exploretheglobe #travelpic #travelmore #travelbug #travelblog #instago #mytravelgram #travelingram #stayandwander #keepitwild #roadtrip #passionpassport #welltraveled #newmexico #nm #newmexicotrue #history #readtheplaque #trinitysite #atomicbomb #historicalmarker (at Trinity Nuclear Test Site)

Sabe onde foi detonada a primeira Bomba Nuclear da História?
Em Trinity Site, situado no deserto do Novo México (EUA). Isso aconteceu no dia 16 de julho de 1945.
