THE MIDDLE FINGER 2016 Superhero/Comedy It’s probably no surprise if you’ve taken any time to listen to our podcast that I, El Jefe, much to the chagrin of the remainder of my podcasting group, am an absolute lover of all things Troma. Being a big fan of their films I immediately dove headfirst into the #Tromanowapp compiling a watchlist of favorites and things that I have yet to see. Intending to binge watch and completely submerge myself in the carnal Mayham that is my favorite low budget cinema company. The first film which manage to focus my ADHD addled attention is Seamus Hanly’s “The Middle Finger”, A superhero comedy spoof about Dennis, an outcast teen who finds himself convinced by a power beyond his control to become a superhero. Taking up the mantle of “The Middle Finger“, he is trained by the disembodied provider of his powers to ultimately thwart the destruction of the world. Between a mixture of laughably bad moments and truly decent comedic writing, The Middle Finger provided plenty of entertainment. Feeling at times like Rainn Wilson’s “Super” it is definitely a fairly unique spin on the superhero genre. Fuccccckk I cannot believe I am writing these words but rest well Midnight Rose...the man, the myth, the legend that is @bladebraxton blew into Tromaville and into my life in 2012 and we quickly became Cretin brothers... just a truly good soul, a truly good spirit always cracking wise with a devilish grin, always ready with a good gimmick to keep the party moving! When the Midnight Rose was in the house good times were always had! Blade had so many different families and groups of people all over the world that cared about him, from the horror community to the wrestling community, VHS collectors to just anyone he would meet on the streets - Blade was there one minute and you turn around and the next second he was gone and the superhero/wrestler/masked maniac #MidnightRose would suddenly appear! It was an honor to fight crime with him as Kabukiman on the streets of France, New York, Philadelphia, Missouri and more! Blade also became a part of the Unsolved Mysteries team, so he was also able to add reenactments actor to his list of amazingly unstoppable achievements!
