All this talk bout the Lumity kiss is bringing me back to when I first saw ruby and sapphire's marriage. It really helped me feel seen and like I could truly have a future as a sapphic person of color. 

Say what you want about either relationship, but these moments being aired on children’s television networks mean the world to questioning/lgbtq children. Tuning into a show mid-season on cartoon network or disney channel and seeing people that look like you and have the same feelings as you is just such an experience that’s so hard to put words to. 

I can’t wait for there to be a time when EVERY kid can flip to any channel they want and see someone they can relate to (if cable is still around lol). This is hopefully just the start of even more shows that can have a girl say she has a girlfriend, or a boy that says he’s gay (lookin at you benson ;D)
