Like it's that thing where if you are given an easy out of a situation where you struggle, you end up finding it less daunting? Like sure Noya is loud and energetic and exhausting, but if Tsukki tells him to go away he won't feel rejected, he has other friends. And he will tell Tsukki to eat more but if Tsukki doesn't he's not going to try and dote on him like a mother hen. And he won't laugh at Tsukki's mean jabs anyway so there's no obligation of performing an attitude. So it does end up feeling sort of. Quiet. And before they know it they're holding hands

i love gay tsukishima headcanons because he's surrounded by dudes at all times when he's playing vb. just because of the sheer number of guys, he'd have to find at least some of them attractive. but he has respect for like, four of these people total. so what you're left with is the overwhelming probability that he's into someone while also hating it.

at the beginning of the fourth gym arc when bokuto is being really understanding and giving good advice and goofing off with him it's totally plausible that he'd have a bit of a crush on him. and then his bokutoish nature becomes clear but it's too late, he's Cute, and tsukki's like "end me, actually"

or finding hinata and noya actually kinda endearing when they're being quiet. small guys are pretty cute. and then they enter the gym and go NYOOM and he's like fuck! nevermind! i can't stand these people! the emotional whiplash of it all... it's just always funny
