I made a horror module for kids on bikes! First thing I'm posting here so feel free to let me know how I could improve. I test ran this with some people online and it went pretty well so I thought I'd share it here too. I've include the custom character sheet I made either printable or as a form fillable document (make sure you save your own copy before making changes!)
There's also a handout I used in my game and some adversity tokens I made that you can print if you like
Behold, the missing son, "Edgito" - from @pjcdidthis's TTRPG adventure module, Ne'er-Do-Well!
Terminal 33: Technology and Magic Types
there are 4 main technology types. Steamware, Solarware, Dieselware, and Cyberware. all of them are based on different "punk" aesthetics, and have advantages and disadvantages. Steamware is more complicated but more precise despite being more volitile. Solarware is cheap and replaceable at the cost of being cheap and replaceable. the cost of being environmentalists I guess. Dieselware is powerful and consistant, but lacks individuality and is expensive to fix. Cyberware is ok at everything and good at nothing. it has the most customizability and identity, at the cost of being just okay. it is the Pawn of All Trades. in terms of magic, they are sorted into two types: Order and Chaos. Order defines and maintains what already exists. Chaos defines change things, whether tearing down the old, or building up the new. order cannot exist without chaos and vice versa. it just sorts traits and beings based on preexisting magical qualities. life magic like healing and subjugation magic like charm is order, but reviving and necromancy are both chaos as they bring new things instead of messing with what's already there.
simple, right?
Terminal 33: The MOD/Part System
a standard player under normal circumstances only gets {1 Mod Slot}. however, the Machine race gets 3 at level 1. and every other level, they get one more, maxing out at level 15 {10 slots}. mods can be swapped out (unless stated otherwise) during any rest. there are matching tech bonuses and even a rainbow bonus called "abomination". different mods have different limbs (only one per limb) and costs that apply to them. for example; Radiator Cuffs: {2 Mod Slots} [Burns 1 heat token for each attack landed, deal 1d8*2 (not 2d8) additional fire damage to target. Downside: no heat token buildup on it's own, + unarmed exclusive] example 2: Burnout Engine: {5 mod slots} [allows you to burn an entire death save at any time, as many as you want, for full recovery and 100% of your max health as temporary HP that do not decay overt time, and an action surge (regardless of class) upon use. if all 3 saves are burned up and the ability is reactivated, your heart gives out from the stress and damage caused. cannot be used while downed. takes a bonus action to use.] (ability)
I have a bunch of these I am working on and have made, however, I aim to only share all the details when the module is done, for the sake of keeping the suprise!
Terminal 33: development begins
this series serves to act as a devlog for Terminal 33, a TTRPG Module Im making using DND as a base with homebrew rules, neat encounters, and chock full of references to different media. in a world where long ago earth was destroyed, scattering Condensed Order Magic to the stars, Humanity is reduced to poverty and less than citizenship status. follow the tag "Terminal 33" or just me if you want more info and updates. I have several posts up by the time you're seeing this, most likely.
WIP! Wanted to make a one player ttrpg, unsure if I want to make it a module of an existing system or figure out my own
Just a peek of the cover so far!
This is really cool! Jennifer Van Boxel created a role-playing scenario based around one of my Star Wars fics set on Sullust. I skimmed through it and it's really well done; the layout and graphics and everything are top notch. I'm so charmed this exists :D
