I just realized that my first trans headcanon was a Thomas and Friends character.

That's Jinty. Jinty came to help out when engines one through eight were about to go to England. I don't remember why, but when I was little I thought Jinty was a girl at first. I think it was because the books had even less girls than the TV show, so I assumed Jinty was a girl to compensate? I don't know.

Anyway I got mad when I found out that wasn't the case and was like "You know what, maybe Jinty decided she was tired of being a boy and wanted to be a girl instead. How about that, huh?" I was like six and didn't know being trans was a thing just yet.

16440 “Uncle Albert, 23, 47445-are preserved at the Midland Railway -Butterly. 47445 having spent time as a NCB engine after withdrawal, becoming the last LMS built engine in regular revenue earring service in mainland Britain.

16407-is at the East Lancashire Railway

7100-the class prototype, preserved at the Krestaen Railway Museum.

7298-is under private ownership.

18 and 19-transferred to the LMS Northern Counties Commission in 1944, later Ulster Transport Authority. They would be preserved upon withdrawal.

47607 “Phantom” and 47455 “Specter”-Preserved on The Rose Line.

47383- last to be withdrawn, preserved on the Severn Valley Railway.

47493-Preserved on the Spa Valley Railway.

27 “Jinty”-was purchased by the North Western Railway upon withdrawal in 1963.

W91 (47491)-Preserved on the DWR.

47681-Youngest of the Class, preserved at the Suddery Railway Museum.

No.1 “Thomas” (47606)-Preserved on the Kingsbridge Branchline upon withdrawal. In 1979 it was discovered that Reverend Wilbert Awdry had made a model of NWR No.1 Thomas using her, so the Railway sought and obtained permission for 47606 to be painted the same.

W84 (7684)-Rebuilt by the DWR into a tender engine.

47371 (7371)-Rebuilt by the Chester and Holyhead into a tender engine following the DWR's success with W84.
