Can I please request Ted Lasso headcanons for working for AFC Richmond and dating Ted? Maybe the reader was someone who Rebecca didn’t fire when taking over the club?

You were an on-staff physical therapist for AFC Richmond when Rupert was the owner

This was how Rebecca had come to know you and how she knew you were one of the only staff she was keeping when she took over the team

Part of her knew that it wasn’t going to be fair to you to get swept up in her plan to drive the team to the ground but even so

She had to admit you were good at your job and a necessary part to the staff, you’d land on your feet when the team went under she was sure of it

When Ted and Beard are hired on the only heads up she gives is their starting date, she doesn’t let you in on a thing

Meeting them for the first time is shocking as it is quick to come out that neither have experience coaching ‘soccer’ as they refer to it. Only American football

Beard at least is knowledgeable on the aspects of the sport and it’s clear he’s done his research while Ted is kind but clueless

Of course you think Rebecca’s got a plan so you’ll be there to support the team and the new coaches regardless

As time goes on you and Ted become good friends, he doesn’t necessarily confide in you about the divorce but you figure it out for yourself and offer a shoulder to cry on when he needs it

And a sounding board when he needs to talk through panic attacks, something that only came up when you found him in his office in the middle of one

Keeley is the person who ends up identifying that you have feelings for Ted, she also ends up identifying that Ted has feelings for you although Beard’s one step ahead of her in that regard

She ends up roping Rebecca into getting you to tell Ted how you feel while Beard’s been talking to Ted about moving on from the divorce

The team conspire to get the two of you alone together until you end up talking things through, a tactic that you and Ted are each aware of

It’s post-season when the two of you finally manage to confess, Ted asking you out and being delighted when you agree

You make sure to take things slow and talk to Ted about the relationship making it clear that you know it might take some getting used to since he’s been with Michelle for years before you

Of course he’s grateful for your patience and never ceases to build trust and communication

He’ll provide you compliments when he sees you at the pitch but he’s not necessarily one for PDA in front of the team

Besides, you both want to keep things professional when on the pitch. Although you might hold his hand during training

Getting asked to go on double-dates with Roy and Keeley

It’s Keeley that does the asking, Roy’s just going along because he loves Keeley and knows that will make her happy

Michelle and Henry get told that he’s dating very early on. Tabloids are harsh in England and he doesn’t want either of them finding out about you that way

Michelle’s happy for him and asks for your number so the two of you can get to know one another. She cares about him still, and you find that you get along with her well

Henry is happy that his dad’s happy but is a little wary at first until you join a Facetime call and begin talking to him about some of his favorite cartoons. From then on Henry asks about you all the time

You and Ted promise to talk about the future later down the road but for now you just are content to be together

hello! So I wanted to share things I really wanna see in Ted lasso season 4!

This will mostly be silly things. I really wanna see an absolute flustered Ted. ( maybe even sexy Ted). I would love to see beard and Ted just talking about sexuality just in a random conversation. Like maybe Ted is trying to describe himself and beards like “oh you mean bisexual”. I am seriously hoping to hear a Sabrina carpenter song! I think Ted would like her. I wanna see Ted yell! Like absolutely furious about something ( possibly about how much he’s trying to be a good dad to Henry). And I really want the Ted lasso community to come back and possibly write more for Ted…( can you tell I’m in love?) Anyway that’s for reading!! Can’t wait for season 4!!!

HCs for watching rom-coms with Ted (Ted Lasso) when he finds out you haven’t watched any/a lot?

It all begins with a movie reference, as is to be expected with Ted

There’s no doubt in his mind that you’re going to respond with the next line because other than Beard and occasionally Higgins you’re the one person who gets his reference

But this one you leave unanswered not even registering it as a quote until he gives you where it’s from

He understands that rom-coms aren’t everyone’s favorite genre and he knows he shouldn’t be as shocked by the small amount you’ve seen

Still he brings up the suggestion of ‘educating’ you on quality romantic comedies

You agree because you’ve been to enough team movie nights to know that he has good taste and hanging out with Ted is fun

Not to mention you figure there’s going to be at least a bit of time to get yourself prepared for your new movie watching schedule

You and Ted figure that you’ll at least watch one movie a week either after training or on rest days if you aren’t out of town for matches

Ted questions a few different people to attempt to make a list of rom coms for your viewing

He’s got his own favorites that are automatically being added but he wants to make sure that he has a comprehensive list

Even finds some recommended that he hasn’t seen and is excited to watch for the first time

Goes all out for each and every viewing. Wants to make sure he’s prepared for every outcome

Tissues if you’re a crier and blankets ready for wrapping around yourself to get cozy in

Only hot chocolate for rom-coms, Ted doesn’t make the rules he says but you’re pretty sure he made this one

Raids the local shops for a wide variety of snacks

When you’re watching a movie that he’s seen over and over again he alternates between watching it and watching you while you watch the movie

He gets incredibly emotionally invested in all movies even if the outcome is known

Get ready for discussions afterwards, he wants to know exactly what you’ve thought about it

And don’t worry, he knows that some rom-coms are outdated in certain regards so even if he enjoys them he’s willing to listen to and accepting of any criticisms

You just don’t talk much

There’s no real reason behind it, when you have something to say you will but for the most part you just nod your head in agreement or shake your head in disapproval

You’ve always gotten by this way and people just seem to accept it now, rather than question you or get you to open up more

When you join the AFC Richmond staff you suppose you’ll have to explain yourself to everyone

And then you meet Beard whose greeting to you is a nod, and you realize that if they’ve understood him for enough time then they can learn to understand you

When you’re introduced to the team Roy makes no effort for conversation and this also makes you feel comforted because you know it’s not really annoyance that you’re here, it’s just that he isn’t going to verbally welcome you

The three of you don’t actually hang out for the longest time

Since you’re on the coaching staff you sit in the office with Ted and Beard, occasionally Roy entering to talk to Ted about something but it’s typically the three of you

And for the most part this just means Ted talking, Beard occasionally answering, and you just nodding or shrugging you shoulders, maybe speaking a few times if the question negates it

For the longest time you don’t speak to Beard. There’s no reason for it, you just sit in the office in a comfortable silence

Conversation only starts due to Beard’s frequent reading and for the first time actually reading a book you’ve read a thousand times over

You make a comment, he asks a question, and a conversation begins

After that actually speaking words to one another is infrequent but it happens

Honestly this kind of shocks Ted because in all the years he’s known Beard the most he’s seen him talk to anyone other than Ted himself is polite conversation to cashiers and waiters when they initiate conversation

You’re conversations to Roy don’t begin until he hears you yelling about something sports related. It’s not football but you are watching a game on your laptop yelling at refs and it’s the first time Roy’s actually seen you say ‘fuck’

He makes a comment on the oddity of it, the first real time you’ve heard him speak outside of his being on the pitch

And you respond back quickly that he must not know that much about you if he finds it shocking

Roy tries afterwards, makes an effort to ask questions. Mostly when the two of you are alone together in the coaches office or on the side of the pitch because it’s easier to keep up the gruff Roy persona that he has for everyone else

It’s something that comes quite naturally, Beard, Roy, and you all spending time together

You bring Beard into one of the conversations you’ve had with Roy and the gates open and you all realize how similar you can be

Sometimes people are intimidated by the three of you

Sometimes you can’t say that you mind it, it works out on occasion when you need some alone time

The three of you bond, become friends, hang out often

Ted learns how to read the three of you, how to tell just who said what or told what joke by the way you sit or cross your arms

People stop coming to all three of you to be spokespersons for anything as it just won’t work

Roy and Beard become the people you can often rely on and you know if you needed total honesty they’d provide it
