maybe i'm missing something, but where that "radfems hate/fetishise/try to silence trans men" idea came from? why would i want to do that? why would any of us do that?

many of us are detransitioners or desisters, many of us spent years and years in some local "queer" communities. maybe that's just my bias and a pure coincidence, but when i hear horror stories from those times, trans men are literally never the perpetrators or aggressors in them.

we know how it feels to be so overwhelmed with society standards, misogyny and stereotypes that we would even reach for a rusty blade if it offered to take us out of this whirlpool of despair and hopelessness.

why would i hate them? i was like them, a long time ago, although it feels like a different lifetime today. but there's no hatred or aggression, only compassion and understanding of how cruel this world can be.

The myth that radfems hate trans men is propaganda spread to make people, ESPECIALLY trans men, never read ‘terf’ arguments. The fetish thing is mostly perpetuated by trans women, they’re especially into “radfems wanna forcefem trans men” bec that’s their kink and they’re projecting it onto us (source- detrans kink, forcefem, etc and other adjacent tags are primarily used by trans women).

Idk maybe I’m too young or too idealistic but I really think we can all be free. Things HAVE gotten better in the past. Things HAVE changed. We have won rights before. We just need to keep doing it. Do not get discouraged.

The current transandrophobia conversation is just so fascinating to me. For the uninitiated, transandrophobia is transphobia specifically aimed at trans men, referred to as “TME” as in transmisogyny exempt. Transmisogyny is the hatred of trans women and also the worst oppression that has ever existed apparently. Trans men must be referred to by what they are not (trans women, who are transmisogyny affected/TMA) which is interesting because in most oppressor-oppressed dynamics it isn’t the oppressed group that is seen as the default but hey what do I know?

Something else that’s interesting is the amount of death threats towards these TMEs just for daring to acknowledge that they faced misogyny growing up as female human beings.

Transfem basically says: “I hate all female human beings and do not want to share any space with them (despite demanding they share all their spaces with me). Biological women kill trans women (???) women who identify as men are worse because they’re mean.”

Is this not some amazing self-victimization? They say transmisogyny is the worst oppression and then they say it could technically affect ALL men since some men are gender nonconforming (femboys) or “eggs” (future trans women). Then they say all women are transmisogyny exempt, completely exempt from the absolute worst hatred, and the oppressors.

They have literally come full circle to, “Actually all women oppress all men.”

I am not Black but it is interesting how often Black women create terms to describe complex inter community experiences of being Black women and then white people steal these terms, strip them of their context, and use them as tools of misogyny. Pick-me, bird, etc. are terms Black women use as a way of holding each other accountable for things that hurt the overall community (like advocating for staying with abusive partners or reinforcing negative male narratives). Among larger communities where Black women are routinely ignored or spoken over, these terms are divorced from context and immediately used for misogyny (according to white ppl, pick me apparently means a woman who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup).

In many of these cases doctors recognized that lobotomies would result in either the woman dying or becoming a vegetable, enough that they would be refered to as "a veritable household pet". Lobotomies were done for multiple reasons, but one of them was for being masculine.

If by "rewarded" you mean "getting your entire functions reduced to nothing because you were forced to recieve a nail through your eye to destroy your frontal lobe and most likely dying in the process" then yes, masculinity is "rewarded"

Swinging at the hornets nest here (the “sex work is work” crowd won’t like this one lol) but there was a post going around about like “if you work in hospitality and you think you see a sex worker, no you didn’t. Keep your mouth shut and let them make their money” is honestly sending me. As many of you know, one of my jobs is working front desk at a hotel and like no lads…we can’t “look the other way” at times. Yes, we know when the working girls check in (many are regulars who are open about it, plus after working their long enough you Know™️ when a woman is because you can clock the signs) and of course we can’t stop them but there are times when you literally have to say something. Here are a couple of instances that have happened on my shifts alone:

-I was checking in two girls and knew something was off and asked to see both their ID’s. Only one had a passport and her 18th birthday was literally a week ago. The other one handed me her high school student card. We had to call the police when their pimp came in and started making threats bc we refused to check them in.

-a sex worker checked in the night before and a housekeeper went into the room the next morning and found the woman in a bloody mess. There were chunks of human tissue scattered throughout the room (the housekeeper quit after that. Honestly, housekeepers are literally on the front lines of the bullshit but that’s another story)

-something about a “couple” was offfffffff at check in. The woman was standing with her hands behind her back, had her eyes glued to the floor, and wouldn’t answer questions despite her name being on the reservation. The man was answering for her. When I asked to see her ID, he hands it to me, and when I handed it to her, her arms were covered in bruises. We didn’t let them check in

-there are two properties and one of them has an agreement with a women’s shelter. I’ve checked in women into one property only to see them come in months later to the other property under the womens shelters’ reservation with bruises and broken limbs (many of whom are indigenous women).

So yeah bottom line: with the World Cup soon approaching, all of us -front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, the kitchen staff, sales, you name it all departments- have had to do extensive modules on clocking the signs of human trafficking. You can’t just look the other way because it can mean missing the underaged girl or preventing horrific violence. Yes we have our regulars and yes sometimes it is what it is but no you can’t just look the other way and let them “secure the bag” because I guarantee there’s a pimp in the lobby/parking lot who’s the one getting the bag at her expense.
