EDIT: TYPOS DAMN! Sooo....this one is kind of heavy. In my opinion, it is. I guess it’s more of how it went? I’m going to put a cut under of it in case you don’t want to read it. I’m going to add warnings, but if you do read it, please tell me what you thought of it. Thank you.

“I’ve reread all these letters, and I adore them. But...there has to be a lie here,” Roman said and looked at Patton, “Yet I can’t find anything here! I can’t see where it’s hidden!”
“I never lied,” Patton replied, but was ashamed to look at Roman’s broken look.
“You did! You lied about loving me! You lied about being mine! You lied about everything!” Roman shouted angrily, gripping his hair, letters now crumbled, tears trickling down his face.
“Roman, you have to believe me. I do love you, I do and always have, and that was a mistake! He never meant anything to me!” Patton responded, pleading to Roman by now, walking over to touch him.
“DON’T TOUCH ME!” Roman screamed, backing away and glared at Patton, wiping away his tears furiously, “Don’t you touch me! He...He meant something to you. B-b-because if he didn’t, you wouldn’t have published his writing!”
“For the love of God! I was just tryi-”
“You were trying to prove something,” Roman finished his sentence, “You were trying to prove, that you weren’t stealing money. You still told the whole world, how you brought this man into our, our, bed! You have ruined our lives! Want me to read it?”
“N-”
“Don’t worry, here it is,” Roman chuckled wetly, unfolding the letter and clears his throat quickly, “The charge against me is a connection with one Dolos O’Ryan, for purposes of improper pecuniary speculation. My real crime is an amorous connection with his husband, Logan O’Ryan, for a considerable time-”
“I know what I wrote! I slept with Logan!” Patton shouted, snatching the paper away from Roman.
“You slept with Logan,” Roman nodded, “You. Slept. With. My. Best. Friend. How fucking dare you?!”
“Roman, let us please talk this out,” Patton begged by now, trying to keep his emotions in check.
“There is nothing to talk about. You sleeping with Logan, you giving my brother Virgil a look of want,” That caught Patton’s attention, staring at Roman with wide eyes, “charming anything walking on two legs! You forfeit all rights to my heart, you bastard!” Roman panted at the end, sobbing as he saw the look on Patton, “You broke me!”
Patton stood there in shock, not knowing how to respond. He just let out a shaky breath and trying to walk towards Roman once more, but Roman backed away. Roman tried to stand tall, but he was trembling, feeling everything imaginable. From betrayal, disappointment, and vulnerability.
“I’m burning the letters you wrote to me,” He whispered, “You can stand over there if you want. I don’t know who you are anymore,” He walked towards the fire he had already started, tearing them in fours and dropped them in the fire.
“Rom-”
“I’ll let future historians wonder how Roman reacted,” Roman cut him off, “How he reacted when you decided to break his heart. You also seem to forget, I am your legacy, Patton. I am the one who will help spread your work.”
He took off his ring, staring at the gold band with disgust now. Roman ignored Patton’s protest, dropping it in the fire.
“If you thought you were mine,” He turned to him, giving a stoic look, “don’t.”
Roman walked away from Patton, Patton staring at the fire and watched how the letters and ring burned.
