asking here since I know theres ties and the changing of some things in the show but with hazbin do any people involved have racism allegations/proof of racism
or is hazbin creators/vas/animators/storyboardwrs/whatever else goes into shows mostly just tied to every other single terrible thing theyve done and the people they associate but haven't explicitly been racist
trying to finish readjusting my notes for my white friends who are in shitball fandoms to try and show them to stop and I can't find in my own notes if I lost racist hazbin stuff or if it didnt exist and I had a bad dream
There is an account that has collected Viziepop receipts on X/Twitter (and a few other accounts on Tumblr here too); I'll link it here and hopefully it helps.

The recent incident that I am learning about at the moment is Brandon Rogers, one of the voice actors for Hazbin and Helluva who voices Blitzo and Katie Killjoy. He has proof of him doing blackface and racial jokes in the past, I think on early youtube or on a website. He's since "apologized" supposedly but, again, just like with gooseworkz and her cast, it remains to be seen how genuine that actually is. I will be soon doing a report on that when I have the time.

Vivziepop, you have said absolutely nothing about the many different val cosplayers harassing people at conventions (including Micheal), nothing about the blackface alastor cosplayer, nothing about how minors are apparently showing up at cons dressed as angel dust, but someone wanting a VA to sign a critical analysis video that they made is a problem??
Vivziepop refuses to address the actual problems within her fandom. She doesn't say anything when people are running around causing actual harm, but someone doing the most harmless thing is a problem to her I guess
Also I very HIGHLY doubt limus wanted pentious's va to agree with their opinions on the show. Am sure she just wanted him to sign the picture and that's that.
de oen van de dag is: BVNL die zich insmeren met paardenstront als blackface to own the libs [x]
“Their concept was dumb” and it’s nothing more than racist bs! Fuck that flop ass group!
MY HAZBIN HOTEL REWRITE HELL HAPPIEST HOTEL.
ALISTAIR!
So for this design, I really wanted to lean into both the dear aspect and the vintage one. He’s the kind of guy that stuck in his ways and doesn’t want to really move on so it makes sense that he looks like he was ripped out of a silent film. It also makes him really stand out from everyone else since he’s pretty monochromatic which also gives visible evidence to the audience that he’s meant to be important.
I also wanted to show more of his black features like giving him a short puffy kind of Afro style I find it very disrespectful and harmful that Alistair‘s original design has no features very obviously was changed to be black after Vivian got in trouble for using sacred images from voodoo I find it really gross that instead of just not doing it in the first place or inventing something like a unique magic system she decided to just race swap him and escape everything. I don’t hate her but I think it’s very irresponsible and offensive to both people who practice voodoo and for his historical and cultural representation of black and Creole people in Louisiana during Jim Crow law.
Also in my version he’s no longer killed because someone has took him for a deer. Instead it’s way more symbolic that Alistair for most of his life felt like a helpless prey creature. Someone that could easily be hurt by scarier things and as a part of his own complicated psychology and trauma response led him acting and gaining the power of the wolf becoming the predator.
Another thing and this has more to do with writing but if I remember correctly Alistair was described as being like Dexter as being a killer with some kind of morals but we never get to really see that at least now. So I really wanted to emphasise that at least to Alistair’s opinion he kills bad people and he does have a heart. He’s not a good person, but he secretly deeply cares about the ones he loves and would do anything for them especially his mother Nifty and later Lucifer and Charlie
TW: Blackface and racism.
Yeah, if you’re seriously defending this, please go ahead and block me.
The fact that this person wasn’t asked to leave by the con staff makes it that much worse.
“Oh, but it wasn’t blackface because they were cosplaying as a fictional demon.”
Alastor’s skin complexion isn’t that dark in the show and other Alastor cosplayers have never done blackface when cosplaying as the character.
This person was just looking for an excuse to act like a racist dumbass in a public setting.
Normalizing this shit is just going to encourage more racist cosplayers to attempt a similar stunt. And I’m frankly getting sick and tired of racism and bigotry being normalized in nerd spaces.
If you don’t push back against this behavior now, it will start to fester and become unbearable.
so we found out a girl did black face at our school so now everyone has the photo and it’s getting posted online 😛
