Anthea’s nonexistent heart ached as she sat in the front of the courtroom; the shattered glass echoing among the high ceilings as her beloved is being dragged to the front of the seven Archangels that sit upon their golden thrones. Their spiritual pressure intimidated her aura, still, the pure soul handled herself with grace as tears danced along her cheeks.
Anthea’s anxiety created daisies to bloom within her hair. Anthea’s friends are kind enough to sit with her in comfort, concerned for her partner’s fate. None of them are willing to tell Anthea their thoughts on the situation. That will only cause a twister of rose thorns to form in the middle of the courtroom.
The guards showed no mercy as they dragged their prisoner along in silver chains. Abaddon’s aura that was once beautiful and strong to match his lovers is now a dark mist, his beautiful pure eyes turning a dark crimson. He became the very thing he hated; a demon.
He gazed at everyone with such hatred and disgust. Low growls from Abaddon, each person receiving a glare that is sure to stain their holy souls.
Except when his irises fell upon his weeping beloved.
The gaze that held fire inside of them now held devoted love. A glance Anthea will only get to experience and no other soul shall. Only Anthea saw beauty in the madness that her lover withheld inside his energy.
Even in the midst of his spree of hurt and destruction, just a meerest touch of his other half and he is once pure again. Only as her light touches his now forever darkness.
“Oh, Abaddon.” Anthea whispered, her gaze not able to remain on her lover. She cannot stand to see the negative energy he has transformed into. The beautiful soul is now far from beauty yet Anthea’s heart still begged to be intertwined with his.
“Bring the prisoner fourth.” Archangel Raguel demanded, opening the golden gates and closing them once the prisoner is through.
“Drop him.”
Doing just that, the guards dropped the monster onto the ground. Cherubs are already flying by the Archangels, holding scrolls with the crimes this soul has committed.
“Precisely.” Archangel Raguel nodded, scanning through the scroll, signaling the cherubs to dismiss themselves. “Abaddon, you have committed quite the crime I see.”
Abaddon did not respond; only low growls crawled through his sharp teeth that formed when he was in his cell; the negative aura overtook his purity.
Too many negative human life decisions as well as spiritual ones.
“Quite sad, I shall say.” Archangel Gabriel chimed in, shaking his head. “He was a beautiful soul yet each time he returned from earth, his aura became,” he shot Abaddon a disgusted gaze, “filthy.”
Abaddon glared up at the Archangel, not fond of his usage of words. “No matter how much we cleansed him, his soul became permanently stained.” Archangel Uriel sighed, resting his chin in the palm of his hand, almost as he has been trying to tell them since the beginning.
Anthea’s nerves overwhelmed her. Souls may feel emotions, but they are just that; souls. They do not have human bodies right now though they resemble human form. No skeleton, intestiants, veins, or skin, but they shall feel the consequences of every action.
Abaddon always said, “free will is never free.”
And he is correct.
Every tender kiss the lovers shared amongst one another in the fields, every simple touch, every single making of love they shall partake; they did not physically feel it, but their egos did.
“I say we just damn him to hell and get this over with.” Archangel Michael grumbles, unimpressed by the lack of decisions being made to Abaddon’s sentence. “If you ask me, his destiny was decided by him.”
Chatter picked up amongst the crowd, overwhelming Anthea’s ears. Her limbs shake while her fictional teeth chatter. The room felt as if it was closing in on her.
Her emotions consuming her aura, no strength was not able to hold her down. “Anthea, sit down.” One of her friends, Vasilis, spoke, but Anthea ignored her.
“Objection, your honor.” Anthea protested, lingering gasp filled the room from her peers. Abaddon even gazed over to Anthea, considering he did not even pay the Archangel’s much mind spoke volumes.
Heaven’s light is too blinding for Abaddon’s eyes. They have grown accustomed to darkness. The only light he is willing to withstand is Anthea’s. Everyone else’s agitated his being.
Storming to the gates, she held onto the golden bars, her tears planting vines around them with roses blooming. Her orbs locked on the man she once knew; the man that used to be her saint.
“Miss Anthea—“ Archangel Raguel started, but she interrupted. “Please forgive me for my rude interruption, Archangel Raguel, my sincerest apologies, really, but please, please, give me an opportunity to speak on my lover's behalf.”
Archangel Raguel thought for a moment, granting her wish, opening the gates shortly after. Anthea rushed to Abaddon, holding the sinner tight in her arms. Her aura blinded him, his eyes squinting in response yet as if he had no words to say, he embraced her angelic touch. Even if it burned his evil energy.
Her tears fell onto his aura, leaving splashes of gold glitter amongst his black mist. He growled in response, only being shushed by his soulmate.
“Oh, Abaddon. My truest love.” She whimpered, holding his once beautiful face in her hands as he remained on the floor; the chains keeping him weighed down. The dark red irises became a soft crimson when he met her champagne colored ones. “You have to fight. You just have to.” She whispered, resting her forehead to his just like they used to, her eyelids covering her sight.
At that moment, Anthea forgot about the trouble they are currently facing. They are in her lovely garden that she keeps alive to reflect on Earth’s plants below. The sun shall cleanse his soul of the wrong doings he participated in; all the demons he faced in human and in spirit form shall wash away in her presence and be cleansed by the rain showers one of her friends made.
They are happy, they are safe.
“You are my beloved, I cannot lose you.” She reminded him, using the phrase he once told her.
Peeling her orbs open so she is faced with the monster that is hers. Somehow, she did not see a terrifying beast. No, she saw beauty in his darkness. A beauty only Anthea will be able to find while the others release displeased scoffs.
Gazing up at the Archangel’s behind her, she kept the demon’s face in her hands before releasing him to stand up.
“Seven Archangels,” she bowed in front of them, the black mist quickly fading from her aura due to her purity levels, “I am Anthea, part of the Mother Nature squad. My soulmate is Abaddon and I wish to speak on behalf of him,” she took a deep breath, “Abaddon’s soul was made when mine was. His purpose was to destroy all evil that shall appear on our grounds. That task has been more than completed. Through it all, he did it all with such beauty and grace. He protected our lands and Earth itself.”
Sighing, Anthea continues, “along the way, Abaddon became lost in his soul purpose. My love on Earth was not strong enough to protect him from the evils that consumed his soul overtime,” raindrops fell from Anthea’s tear ducts, planting flowers at her feet. She quickly wiped them away, a cherub handing her a tissue. “My apologies, Archangels. As I was saying, my love could not save Abaddon on earth no matter how many lifetimes I tried, so, I fulfilled my earth duties separately.”
“What is the point of all of this?” Archangel Michael groans in annoyance. Archangel Raguel holds up a hand then encourages Anthea to “proceed.”
Anthea bowed. “Thank you, Archangel Raguel. If you would allow me to, I would request you release Abaddon to show he shall not attack anyone in my presence. I can prove that I can fix him. He is fixable.”
“Nonsense!” Archangel Michael argued, frustration overwhelming him. “He is a beast. Look at him; he is a demon.”
Archangel Michael was not wrong. The soul that was once bright as light is now a charcoal black mist, red eyes, untrimmed claws that left marks within the floor from being dragged. He is what people described in their nightmares.
He is a nightmare.
“Archangel Raguel, you cannot consider Anthea’s request. Surely, you see how absurd this is.” Archangel Gabriel protested.
“My court, my rules.” Archangel Raguel silenced. “Since this is my ruling, I shall grant Anthea’s request.”
“This is absurd!” Archangel huffed, signaling his squad to get ready to attack the demon if needed. Lining along the gates, the soldiers that used to be a part of Abaddon’s squad awaited for the worse.
Anthea strolled back over to Abaddon, holding his growling face in her velvet touch. “Don’t let me down.” She whispered, the chains releasing the beast.
Abaddon attempted to fight back his nature to destroy. Showing he had some good left in his soul. Evil is brewing in his eyes, though? the good in him slowly started to arise as he began to weep looking in Anthea’s orbs. “Shh, it’s okay, baby. I am here.” She whispered, placing a tender kiss on his forehead, shooting electricity through him that shined in gold.
Gold that was devoured by his darkness soon after.
Anthea slowly stepped back, allowing Abaddon to prove his innocence. He fought hard, his nails digging into the floor below, growls and whimpers escaping him as he fought to stay in place.
It is too late.
The evil finally overtook him, his dark crimson orbs glaring at his lover like the rest; he began to charge at her. She refused to move, hoping her love and lack of fear was enough to tame the wild beast.
It was not.
The soldiers attacked the beast to the floor, feet away from Anthea. “N-No,” she stammered, turning to face the Archangel’s behind her, “p-please give him another chance! He did not m-mean to. He tried to fight!”
Archangel Raguel offered a look of sympathy. “I’m sorry, Anthea. My decision is made. Damn Abaddon to the depths of hell.”
The guards held Anthea in place as they carried the beast away. “Abaddon!” Anthea cried, attempting to escape the guards grip to no avail. She witnessed her lover be dragged out of the courtroom, his irises screaming hatred for the girl he once loved.
At that moment, Heaven lost their soldier, but Anthea lost her lifeline.
Anthea had not touched her garden for a hundred years after that day. She drowned the flowers in tears, the Earth experiencing the same since she was in charge of them. Countries that counted on her flowers only experienced endless rain or severe drought. No flowers have bloomed ever since, species of insects perished in the process as well as animals that depended on them.
Depression is on the rise for Earth. Sunlight has not been seen in days, but, when it did, it was for too long.
No one has seen the soul for years. No one could understand her pain; they all got to keep their soulmates. Except for her.
She will never love again. Her lover now hates her. That is all he knows how to do, but just like Heaven’s souls get the choice to reincarnate to Earth to learn, so does Hell’s.
Abaddon wanted to know what life is like now that he does not have to obey Heaven’s guidelines. He does not have to worry about anyone but himself. He can cause all the ruckus and destruction he wants. Especially since the world now possesses superpowers.
Doing just that, on April 20th, Katsuki Bakugō was born.
Word arose to Heaven. The Archangels worried and sent some souls to go down to earth to help guard. One gossip filled angel just had to tell her friend. A knock on Anthea’s front door by Vasilis, she was not expecting an answer just like all the other times. This time, she was quite surprised to see her broken friend in front of her.
“Abaddon is now on Earth.”
For the first time in one hundred years, Anthea smiled. Some flowers began to bloom in her garden that she did not even dare look at. It stopped raining and the sun began to peak out.
On Y/B/D, another flower bloomed.
Y/N Y/L/N.
