I'm beyond tired of hearing that monkeypox is "strictly a homosexual disease." Everyone one is at risk of contacting monkeypox. Many LGBTQ+ people have already organized vaccination clinics at their bars and other community events. This has already lead to decreases rates of transmissions. Please stop with your ignorance.

The article puts in the smallest print possible that transmission between men who have sex with men is significantly decreased when they are in a sexually monogamous relationship. Medicalized homophobia is still very present is our society

quick note about monkeypox:

it's been going around that trying on clothes or coming into contact with linens can transmit monkeypox if those fabrics had previously been touched by an infected person. this is true ONLY IF THAT PERSON HAS ACTIVE LESIONS ON THEIR BODY. if you have monkeypox lesions that are active, please be weary and careful and considerate when you're traveling or if you decide to go out shopping, please, because you can transmit monkeypox to another person.

I got scared for a few days because I thought I might have monkeypox, but my blisters did not look like monkeypox at all. (very small bumps on my arm)

But today I just realized they appeared right after I started using a bottle of perfumed soap my mom gave to me. And in the past I often had allergic reactions to perfumed soaps like that. Sooo yeah it's just contact dermatisis lmao

As a bisexual I’m so fuckibg scared of how monkey pox is being treated like the next AIDS. Not as a queer person, as a bi person. And if you don’t understand why, you should learn mroe about what happened to us then
