once you think about what MHA actually wants to tell you about (disabled and queer) people it’s really gross. If you read into the ending and honestly the whole plot the messages you see are
If you resist the societal structures that have actively harmed you your entire life you are a dangerous criminal who can only be redeemed by DYING
Victims of grooming and (C)SA are tainted and will also become dangerous criminals or heartless egotistical assholes (or both!) BUT if your backstory is sad enough and you seem mentally well enough and you can be easily stripped of your agency you can become a martyr!
Prison is a mercy and all criminals should die
Cops are great for society actually!/Only SOME cops are bad
Being queer makes you a dangerous criminal who deserves to die
Being disabled makes you a dangerous criminal who deserves to die
Oppressed people are mean and heartless and should shut up >:(
If you are literally on the verge of death your family should be able to keep you alive and in pain indefinitely because they miss you (AKA disabled people are basically objects and you can do whatever you want to them)
Some people are just born bad/worse than others
you need to be put in a fucking psych ward holy shit
So fun fact - people don't need to be put into psych wards unless they are genuinely a danger to themselves or others due to (usually) some sort of mental illness or episode. Since I'm healthy and taking care of myself and my children whilst maintaining healthy relationships, I dont need a psych ward!
I'd also argue that this statement is not only ableist/saneist but also incredibly racist. Why? Well idk... wanna know who else got put into psych wards bc they were a little different? Black and indigenous people. Bingo.
Others feel free to correct me tho.

narc abuse this narc abuse that
every therapist I've been to has said that my parents were either narcissists or showed signs of narcissistic tendencies. and you know what?
i still don't go around calling people I don't like or that are being rude/mean/cruel narcissists/psychopaths/sociopaths etc because I understand some of the horrors folks with personality disorders face in the psychiatric system, that a mental health condition does not turn anyone with it into Big Bad Scary Abuser™.
I understand that these conditions are literally caused by trauma, often by the person being a victim of abuse themselves, that people with these conditions are also more likely to be future victims of abuse, including at the hands of the very system that says it is meant to help them, and I also understand that no amount of being traumatized or unempathetic makes someone automatically a bad person.
I used to have hyperempathy, to a degree that one of my therapists called me an empath with such certainty that I thought it was a diagnosis. It didn't make me a better person. It just made me scared and in pain and stressed, all of the time. It was a trauma response, just like low/no empathy so often is. And even if it wasn't, even if we were just born like this or if it just happened one day, it isn't what makes us good or bad people.
Empathy is a tool. It's a very helpful tool, but it's by no means necessary. I navigate the world with my tool of balance heavily impeded by using other tools, like crutches and caution. Without empathy, you can still navigate the world and choose kindness, even if sometimes it's a bit awkward or clumsy.
And both of us would have a much easier time if people would accept our differences and accommodate for them instead of treating us like an Other, like some kind of spectacle, like a monster or an animal or something beneath humanity/personhood.
You can't get on a high horse about being soooo much more empathetic than those nasty psychos when you are treating your fellow people like they're not even people just because you've been convinced that Bad Person Disorder is a real and true thing and should be eradicated at all costs.
my parents treated me horrifically. many other abusers do the same. i don't know how many of them have this or that condition, and frankly, i do not care. if they don't, I'm only harming folks that do by armchair diagnosing them. if they do, it's not an excuse for the behavior and focusing on it is again harming others with the condition(s) that have to fight their own brains and the whole damn world just to live; not to mention, it's not my job to diagnose or treat/fix the people that hurt me.
stop calling people psychos, psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists, etc. I'm fucking tired of it. you are not protecting anyone by doing this. you are doing harm. knock it the fuck off.
Egotistical, manipulative, selfish, arrogant, rude, uncaring, abusive, ignorant, mean, bully, evil, entitled, etc.
Look at all these words english offers that are better than calling people narcissistic. More precise and not demonizing a mental health disorder.
For example: "The current American political party is egotistical." "My ex was manipulative and abusive." "That person is arrogant."
The argument that "narcissist and npd are different things" is not necessarily wrong, the two are largely and commonly used separately, but that does not change the impact. When we normalise calling abusive, rude or harmful people narcissists it sets a connection in peoples mind. When a PwNPD reveals to someone that they have npd that person is likely to immediately assume that they are evil and abusive no matter past experiences. Demonizing disorders through everyday language ruins lives.
( these words are not synonymous with npd, they just actually give better explanations than calling people narcissists.)
I am a strong believer in the idea that mentally ill and delusional creatures deserve to exist in alterhuman spaces, and this isn’t just because I fall under this umbrella. Long before I realized I had clinical lycanthropy I was under this idea. I have no clue where some people get off saying that alterhumans who identity who comes from mental illness or delusions are any different then those who’s alterhumanity comes from spirituality. Saying that you don’t want “crazy” alterhumans in your space because you don’t “want to encourage their delusions” is a shitty thing to say. Change that to any other disorder and listen to how weird it sounds. “I don’t want autistic people in this space because I don’t want to encourage their special interests” and if you are going to say “well delusions are harmful special interests aren’t harmful” that is just straight up wrong. Some people’s special interests can be harmful to them, I have been there myself. I have gotten severely anxious and freaked out about my special interests. I know some people may even neglect themselves because they are to interested in their Spin. Delusional alterhumans have been and always will be valid. I don’t care if you think delusions are a bad thing or make someone evil and crazy. You are ableist. Get a hold of yourself and get out of the community until you fix yourself. You don’t need to understand every single identity but you can be kind
My religion is weird (I'm a UU omnist who believes all religions are true and all the mythologies and gods are coexisting) and every time I tell people that, I get told it's a ridiculous belief, my religion isn't real, I've even had people ask me questions that boiled down to "are you schizophrenic or something' and others act like I confessed to stealing and sacrificing pets or something. I don't get the pushback against "We're all correct" but for some reason it's absurdly strong.
This is anti religion and saneism.
Stars forbid we coexist peacefully and all get along. /sarcasm
