Plagued
Putting this under the cut since it has lots of talk about death and sickness! Rylee dying from the plague haha
At this point, she was hardly moving. Her head was pounding, she felt overall weak, constant hot and cool flashes, sometimes coughing blood, and of course, the deep red eyes. That was the easiest way to tell she had caught the red plague, although no one really knew she was here and she was glad they hadn't come to look for her. She had exposed herself to the plague more than most in Vesuvia and she had a weak immune system, part of her knew the whole time that this was going to happen and it was just a ticking time bomb.
Rylee had all the shop doors locked and she hadn't left her bed in a while, she was a mess, she didn't want anyone to see her like this. It was disgusting, her hair was a mess, she had blood on her clothes from when she coughed it up yet felt too sick to move fast enough. Not an attractive sight.
Yes, they were working on the cure but they had been looking for so long there wasn't a good chance they'd find it in the next few days or at this point, maybe even hours. She was a hopeless case, she couldn't be cured and she didn't want people to worry about her. Julian was far too busy working, before she had even gotten sick he had started to neglect her, but she couldn't blame him.
Nadia was likely too busy at the palace trying to undo the chaos Lucio created and she doubted she was worried, sometimes the two of them were both so busy not seeing each other for days at a time was not uncommon. And Asra? Asra was long gone, left Vesuvia a while ago but she was happy he wasn't here to see her like this. She wasn't even sure if he still thought of her, he could be out who knows where living a life ten times better than the one he had here with her.
Rylee had other people she talked to as well, but she wasn't close enough with any of them for them to actually seek her out. The idea of getting close to people at this time was almost scary, afraid that she'd lose them as soon as they became close which wasn't unlikely and it has happened before. She was lucky Julian was still alive.
It was admittedly a little upsetting that Julian wasn't here for her since they had spent almost every day together recently, she thought he might notice the fact she had stopped showing up to the dungeons or the clinic, but he didn't.
Yes, on one hand Rylee didn't want anyone worrying about her but laying here with no one to comfort her, no one to help her and no one to rest with her in her final moments, it was depressing. Her family wasn't in Vesuvia anymore, they probably didn't know whether she was dead or alive currently. Sometimes she forgot to write for days and days and they already thought she had passed a few times before. To hear it actually happened probably wouldn't come as much of a shocker.
She was so sick of laying here, at this point it was just a waiting game of when it got too hard to breathe or when she just couldn't keep her eyes open anymore. Considering how everything was going, she'd rather it happen sooner rather than later. Perhaps her weak immune system wasn't such an unlucky thing anymore.
