You groan at the repeated ringing of your phone. You just wanted to sleep in. You grumpily answered, “Hello?!”
“Finally you answered. It’s Paul.”
You sat up and rubbed your eyes. “What’s wrong?”
“He can’t shift back. We need you.”
You blushed. You knew what Sam meant. You were the only one to calm him down enough. “O-oh okay. I’m on my way.” As you were about to hang up you heard Sam call out to Paul that he was in trouble now. It made you giggle.
You quickly got dressed and got into your car to head over. You already knew the way so you let your mind wander about your relationship with the hothead. He was stubborn and rude but he was just a big teddy bear underneath that. Paul has always treated you right and with love. He lets your snide comments pass, just lets you do whatever you want with him. You love that.
You came to a stop and got out the car. You ventured further until you saw your boyfriend pacing and snarling. The others looked relieved to finally see you. “Paul!” You called out with your arms crossed.
Paul looked at you and abruptly looked away.
“I know you’re not ignoring me!” You walked towards him which made the others worry. “You need to calm down. Do you wanna be stuck like this forever?”
Paul huffed and trailed into the woods as you followed in suit. Paul laid down and rolled over.
You laid with him and ran your fingers through his fur. “I don’t know why you’re mad, but we can talk it out. You can’t keep shifting and staying this way to avoid your problems. I’m here for you baby. Please change back.” You looked into his deep brown eyes and smiled softly. Then cringed lightly when you heard the bones changing.
“You made me soft.” Paul muttered.
You threw shorts and a shirt at him. “Yeah yeah. You love me though.”
“I do. I love you more than you’ll ever know.” Paul smooched you.
You giggled. “I think I’ll always know.”
