You always seemed to hang around Lilia. Everyone noticed this and whenever there was Lilia, you were not too far behind following him wherever he went. Lilia didn’t mind it all too much. He adored your company, but a burning concern was evident. Your behavior with him was more that of a child than a friend.
Lilia would often see you seeking his approval for things, acting elated when he said he was proud of you. And when there was ever a hint of disappointment in his voice, you would try to prove yourself to him. You showed off your grades in class to him and always asked him if it was good enough. But he never needed you to prove anything to him.
Lilia had decided to visit you at your dorm one day, there wasn’t any particular reason for his visit other than the fact that he wanted to see you. He was concerned when he heard Sebek talk about how low you seemed to be acting during class. You were very disappointed and sulking on your bed.
Lilia knocked gently on the door, not wanting to disturb you if you were busy, however, your groaning was signal enough that you weren’t. He could have opened the door, but it’s more fun to teleport inside instead. Once he had teleported inside, he noticed you curled up in your bed and covered by your blankets. What were you so upset about?
You didn’t even notice Lilia was inside your dorm and watching your covered form rise and fall. Soft sobs could be heard from the blanket. You were muttering to yourself, apologizing to no one in particular. Although that’s what it seemed like.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry! Please don’t be mad…”
Earlier, during class, you had received your grade on a pretty important assignment. It wasn’t as heavy as a project, but it didn’t matter much to you. You needed a good grade, at least 90%. The reason? To make him happy.
But when you saw something lower, your heart sank. You felt like you died right then and there. It was 81%, a low B. This wasn’t good enough; you felt like you weren’t good enough. Whenever your grades weren't A's you never felt good enough.
That’s what lead you to being curled up on your bed, covered in your blankets and tears streaming down your face with the assignment held close to your chest. Lilia’s gaze on you was full of concern. His presence was made aware when he sat on your bed, a gentle hand placed on your side.
“What’s wrong, Y/n?”
Your body stiffened when you heard his voice. Why was he here now? No you couldn’t mentally handle facing him. Not with all the worse case scenarios brimming within your mind; it was driving you crazy.
A deep sigh could be heard from beneath the blankets you were covered in, breaking up the onslaught of sobbing. Your head peaked out from the soft fabric draped over your body. Teary, e/c eyes met deep red ones that flooded with concern. You tried to speak but choked up, not being able too when you saw the concern within Lilia.
You had buried your head into the pillow, not wanting to face him. How could you when you knew how he would react. At least how you thought he would. You answered his question, voice mumbled due to the pillow you shoved against your face.
“I…I can’t tell you…”
Lilia placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, entangling the soft blanket within his fingertips. He scooted closer to you, wanting to know what was truly wrong. If it wasn’t the grade, then what had you so upset? Lilia had decided to question you further with a determination to understand why you were so unhappy.
“Why can’t you tell me?”
You sat up, the blankets falling off your body as your h/c hair was disheveled and messy. Lilia wanted to comb it and fix it, but now was not the time for that. You sniffled and tried to dry your tears with one hand as your other one handed him the sheet of paper. Your voice was now weak and dry from crying.
“Because…of this…”
You placed the sheet of paper into his lap, the red marker in the corner burned into your mind. It made you want to sob just as hard again. Lilia took the paper into his hands with great care. He read the red marking in the corner, the percentage. He was quite impressed, considering the topic and knowing it was Trien’s class.
“An 81? That’s pretty good. Professor Trien can be a hard grader. Is the grade why you’re so upset?”
You simply shook your head silently. It wasn’t exactly the grade that had upset you, but you didn’t feel ready to confess to him. Your body shuddered as you struggled to hold back sobs. You tried so hard to keep your composure in front of him. Lilia only held sympathy within his eyes, and his voice was unsettlingly gentle.
“Then why are you so upset?”
You pulled your head out of the pillow, eyes bloodshot and covered in tears. You kept your head low and looking onto your lap that was covered by blankets. Sniffles were the only thing heard in your room for a while until your meek voice could be picked up. Tears still fell as they soaked into your bedsheets.
“It’s not good enough…”
Lilia felt a bit bewildered. He was more than impressed with the grade, and he felt so much pride for you. More questions were raised in his head. However, instead of asking more questions, Lilia decided on comforting you first. He wanted to affirm within your mind that the grade was good enough.
“It is, Y/n.”
You shook your head violently at his words. You tried your best to explain through sniffling and stuttering. Without even realizing you had begun ranting even though the information you were giving was vague. You tried your best to explain through choked sobs.
“No it isn’t! Back home, he would always expect good grades. Nothing below an A. It had to be perfect… It always had to be perfect, I always had to be perfect… And if I wasn’t… Well it always hurt when he reprimanded me… So I thought, if I didn’t show you perfect grades or did something to disappoint you then you would be upset with me too… ”
Your sudden rant had caught him off guard. Confusion and concern flurried within his mind, his eyes lingering on your tear stained face as you continued to cry. Several questions flooded his mind, but one was more repetitive than the rest. Lilia’s hand slipped into yours, squeezing it gently.
“Who are you talking about?”
Your hands were starting to shake. You just had processed what you had shared with him, and you blushed feeling incredibly embarrassed for venting to him. You pulled out your phone with your free hand, opening the photo app and scrolling to pictures that were taken a couple of years back. You turned your phone, so Lilia could see the photos
Lilia took great care to analyze the photos you were sharing. He understood that you were done trying to talk, knowing that you would sob even if you opened your mouth slightly. With his free hand, he swiped through the photos and saw you, but you were younger.
Next to you was an older man. He had gray strands within his h/c hair. The man looked like you but if you were much older. Lilia had assumed that this man that stood next to you was your father, your biological dad.
The pictures only explained who you were talking about. Lilia was still very confused on your ranting. Were you implying your father wasn’t a good father? Lilia only gave you a silent look of uncertainty.
There was a mix of anger and perplexity within Lilia’s mind. How could someone that was supposed to be your parent treat you so horribly. Suddenly, you silently showed him the text messages you had with your father before. It solidified the anger Lilia was harboring.
That’s when the pieces started to fall
You saw him as a father.
Lilia placed a gentle hand on your shoulder as you put your phone away. You tilted your head to look into those caring red eyes, ones you wished your father saw you with. But here he was, and maybe not as a replacement. Lilia was willing to be the father you never truly had.
He placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, the graded paper now fully discarded. Lilia was solely focused on making you feel better. He wanted nothing more than to ease your anxiety and show that you were good enough. That he was proud of you, and that’s when he said those magic words.
“If you were my little boy, I would do whatever I could do.”
All of them made you feel so much better. That “bad grade” was solved through small study groups with Silver and Lilia helping you and Malleus joining when he could. Sebek of course tried and you appreciated it. You appreciated all of their efforts for helping you, for making you feel safe.
From that point on, Lilia had invited you to Diasomnia almost every day. Some, Sebek, found your presence slightly odd but warmed up to it. Silver was more than welcoming because he trusted his father’s judgement. And of course Malleus was very excited to have you around more often.
This was what family felt like. You didn’t have to bear the thought of your father being mad at you anymore. No more fearing disappointment. It was only ever approval from Lilia and encouragement when you felt set back. Diasomnia became your found family; you were finally home.

New Twst event! + a bit of a theory+ Book 7.5 spoilers
It's here ya'll! The continuation of the Nightmare before Christmas event from last year! I was so hyped when I saw the trailer! I had been wondering why we didn't get a Halloween event in October so seeing the annoucment of the event it looks like they were forcused on developing part two. Anyways! The event is officially called: Lost in the Book with Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas ~The First Christmas~

Event Summary: A mysterious book found in the library… The moment it’s opened, a bright light bursts out, and when they open their eyes, they’ve wandered back into Halloween Town once again. But this time, the town feels different. The streets are celebrating a new holiday: “Christmas.” They encounter a strange man named Swing. Just what are his and Boogie’s true intentions? Join the King of Fright, Jack Skellington, as everyone sets out to explore the world of Christmas!

At the time of this post the event starts next week on 21 November.
So like I said before this is a continuation of last years event which was about Jack and the NRC students setting up for halloween. The event served as somewhat of a prequel to the events of the NBC movie. This year it seems that we're going to be following the events of the original movie with Jack, the boys and Yuu helping Jack take over Christmas. However with the promotional artwork and character designs being revealed it looks like Skully won't be in this event unfortunately
However we are getting a new character. Swing, who is the twisted version of Oogie Boogie and by the looks of it, Swing is going to team up with Oogie Boogie. Looking at his design it looks like he's wearing shackles so I wonder if he escaped from somewhere, especially with his lines:
"So you chased me all the way out here, huh?” “Being a popular guy is tough, you know.” “I just want to be freer, have more fun… and make things a lot more chaotic"
I wonder if he's going to try and trap Yuu, Jack, Ruggie, Deuce and the others since they're going to try and figure out a way out and maybe he assumes that if they manage to find a way out and leave it'll force him to leave as well and he wants to prevent that from happening. And like I said before since it looks like we're going to be following the events of the original movie Oogie boogie will retain the same role of trying to kill Santa and possibly the Twst Boys and Yuu as well.
Something that stood out was from what I heard Twisted Wonderland does not celebrate Christmas so this will be the Boys first Christmas ever. Which is kind of funny the more I think about it cause I guess Jesus Christ just doesn't exist in their world since Christmas is about the birth of Christ. Makes me wonder if since Hades is a God that some people worship him and the others Greek Gods instead.
Anyways Religon and God aside This raises some questions, Will Yuu and Grim remember their time with Jack and Skully? Since at the end of the first NBC event Yuu, Leona, Jamil, Sebek and the others forgot about their time in Halloween town as well as Skully but subconsciously remembered him so that has to extend to their time in Halloween town. I wonder if stepping back into the book will jog Yuu's memory since this event establishes that leaving the book doesn't truly erase their memories but suppress them. So if their memories do come back it's going to hit them that Skully has long since passed away since it was revealed at the end of Part one that Skully attended NRC over 100 years ago.
Another question I have is are these events cannon? This part of the post will be going into spoiler territory about book 7.5 if you haven't seen it please go watch it on youtube if not feel free to skip this part.
So In book 7.5, Crowley mentions that there had been instances where people disapear into mirrors and books without a trace. Something that Yuu and the others have done on two seperate occations. I know there had been some discussion on wether events like Beanfest, playful land, the fairy gala ECT are canon to the main game or take place within a floating timeline. This might actually be the first time an event is mentioned in the main story. I wonder if this might play in important role later down the line since I don't think Book 8 will be the final book in the game.
In conclustion I'm very excited to see how this event plays out since I had a fun time with part one.
What do you do when the person you associated with the pinnacle of innocence absolutely shatters your perception of them? When the person you had come to grips with loving for their innocent curiosity and kind demeanor absolutely changes into a violent merciless monster at the drop of a hat? That was what the whole team of Diasomnia were dealing with as they watched you pummel a student black and blue with your friends genuinely struggling to pull you off.
Hours before they had all come to an agreement: that they all loved you and were going to protect you. It was a big step for them as they previously had been walking on eggshells around each other when it came to you. Their developed feelings seemed to clash with their established relationships and their typical atmosphere was tense with competition. But after recalling your own inspiring words for teamwork (not directly said to them) they decided that they'd work it out. But that was when they were all under the impression that you were so innocent and compassionate that you needed their protection-let alone deserved it.
A student had apparently uttered a slur from your world, a seemingly made-up word you would use as you referred to people when you were comfortable. As soon as the word was said whatever expression you had on dropped only for it to morph into intense rage. Launching at them, you had the upper hand knocking away the wand they wanted to pull out. For a good ten seconds you were able to lay into this kid as everyone just kind of watched in awe as the Ramshackle prefect destroyed this student.
Then Deuce and Ace are the first ones to try and assuage you away from your assault only to be ignored and pushed away as you continued. By then others intervened, Floyd with an unusually solemn face held you up by hooking his arms under your armpits leaving you to viciously kick at and wriggle towards the writhing student. Then Rook intervenes hooking his arms around your knees walking with Floyd as they carry you out of the cafeteria. The population of Night Raven is baffled as everyone just listens to the student cry and whimper in pain. Everyone was shocked, that you the sweet Ramshackle prefect actually wailed on a student for saying one word.
Away from the crowd Rook and Floyd bring you to a still where you finally stop, huffing heavily your exhausted. Rook will offer for you to talk about it while Floyd will straight up not ask.
"Shrimp aren't fighters. What the heck was that?"
You'll either cry or just play with the ground as you give context to the word.
"That word is slur for people...who are like me..."
"Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you use this word occasionally?"
"Yeah...but it's okay for me to use it but not them."
"Well that sounds backwards..."
"No it isn't. It's my right, my way to take the meaning back. It used to be a way for people to discredit my existence but now I-my people-own it."
They parrot this, when Crowley and teachers question them. On the investigation that the student had a fair understanding of that and still said it ended up with you both being suspended for a week as well as writing an essay about your feelings.
Needless to say you were hanging around your dorm more often and looking more forward to seeing your fae friend wandering by. But you didn't and as you expected like most there was a wave of fear now, that steered him away. Despite the incident being properly narrated to the masses rumors still spread and your friends were hesitant to visit.
When he did finally come around he looked shocked to see you as if you hadn't been chilling on the property for that whole week.
"I get it, it's cool. I guess everyone's just surprised about me, huh?"
You playfully scoffed waving with your back turned as you went inside Ramshackle. Malleus is met with a stinging pain in his chest; overwhelmed by guilt he finds he's become what he hates most. He, who evaded giving you his identity to avoid being ran from did the running from you when you were open and honest the whole time. He criticizes himself questioning what he truly loved about you. The blank slate? The fresh start? Your naiveté? For a friend he really let you down...and he wonders can he ever bring himself to be forgiven.
Lilia Vanrouge is saddened. While he was more realistic than the rest of his family in their image of you he was still surprised by this. No doubt he listened to your direct explanation right after the event. He comes around appearing behind corners and previously empty rooms acting playful with a gloomy you. Whether you indulge in his antics or get annoyed by him it does cheer you up, distracting you at its best. He finds himself falling harder for you; your not perfect and he loves that.
"All the better to love you my dear!"
"That's not how the story goes."
" I know but don't you think that's better?"
Silver was shocked and it will take him a few days before he can properly sympathize. In fact it strengthens his resolve to be with you; he swore to protect you and that's what he plans to do. All these means is that your willing to fight for what you believe is right. Unfortunately his resolve is not really felt through this time, he so busy contemplating he misses the fact that you are unattended and feeling sad. It's only when Malleus reports his resolve that he realizes you've been suffering.
Sebek is the most shaken up by this. He was already making such a big leap to even consider a human as someone he loved. To find that the one you loved wasn't nearly the deity they depicted beforehand was anything but made it hard for him to accept. But he still continued to follow you around as much as he fought internally with himself about following a tainted human. So there are two ways he can rationalize the further warmth that intensifies when he recalls your pure unadulterated anger as you punched and kicked at the student. Of course he either rationalizes your rage as a justified reaction as grander being or that this was the result of you being tainted and thus its all his fault as he should have been more diligent about his duty.
"Hmm, Malleus?"
You were studying in a corner of the library tucked away from the larger groups of students who had all strictly kept to the other side of the space. The fae prince sat himself across from you staring until you finally looked up at him. He felt like you had stabbed him as you used his given name further spurring him to apologize.
"I wanted to properly apologize for leaving you in your time of need. I was just surprised to see that side of you."
You shrugged avoiding eye contact as you seemed to hyper focus on the words in front of you.
"Yeah, it's cool."
It didn't feel like it was 'cool' to Malleus so he lowered his head before pushing out his seat at the table. You were sure he was leaving for good, feeling the awkwardness of your fake acceptance before retreating.
Coming around the table to your side was Malleus towering over you before getting on one knee as he set his hand on your knee. Your face, blooming in heat, was in a state of shock as you turned to him completely forgetting the book you were reading before.
"(Y/n), I truly am remorseful. I should've have been with you during this time for I know you would have done the same for me-"
He grabbed your flabbergasted hands in his pulling them towards him as you fearfully looked around at the whispering students.
"Will you forgive me, (Y/n)? I want more than anything to reclaim our intimacy. I truly mean it, I have no intention of leaving you in any state if it isn't beside me-!"
"O-okay! I-i got it I got it! I forgive you, everything is fine, I forgive you! Just get up off the floor!"
As quietly as possible you tried to resolve the crowd's uproar of whispers with your forgiveness. Even if you felt pressured to you couldn't deny the sparkle in his emerald eyes as he had your forgiveness. He stands up still clasping your hands in his before declaring that he wished to celebrate.
"I think a sleep over would be a wondrous way to celebrate!"
Seemingly out of nowhere Lilia had plopped his stacks of books on the desk before coming close to you two with a sly smile.
You were about to comment on his sudden proximity before you felt the leaning of someone's head at the small of your back.
*Yawn* "Sleep over sounds nice...zzzz" Going back to sleep was Silver who was now in your seat and forcing you to stay in place lest he fall. Thinking it couldn't get much worse you almost failed to see Sebek appear behind you all before loudly proclaiming to the auspicious onlookers.
"HUZZAH!!! LORD MALLEUS AND THE (Y/N) HAVE RECONCILED!! YOU ARE ALLOWED TO REJOICE!"
"SHHHHHH!!"
"Sebek, please!"
You tried to calm him down but he seemed far to enraptured in whatever celebration he deluded himself into initiating. The best you could do was lead the Diasomnia posse out of the library in hopes to restore the peace.
Here are more of my thoughts on chapter 7 and the whole dream thing, I've seen people talk about it and I want in.
Regarding Yuu's dreams some people are saying that Malleus didn't give them a dream on purpose but there's something that's been bothering me about his UM and dreams in general.
Going off of Lillia's dream about his past, a past which we know Malleus knew little to nothing about but his magic was able to recreate perfectly.
So we know that Malleus himself doesn't need to know anything about the person sleeping, they're forming the dream themselves, just like he says he's watching over them not creating them.
I admit the way his magic works is not entirely clear, at least to me. But since it's meant to bring people happiness and he does it for everyone on Sage's Island even the people he doesn't necessarily care about or likes for example Leona. Then why wouldn't he do it for someone who he really cares about like Yuu.
From a game development standpoint it makes sense why the player character wouldn't have a dream like everyone else but from a story standpoint it makes me think there's some sort of a block or someone or something put them in the dream room with Mickey on purpose.
Anyway this post is just for me to talk about Malleus' UM so don't take it too seriously, but thank you for reading and I love you <3

I've seen so many theories of Crowely being Revan/Levan but wouldn't Lillia have recognised him if he was? Sure he wears a mask and has fae like pointy ears and all but Lillia knew him so well. There's no way he wouldn't have recognised him if they were living in such closed quarters.
