Ingredients: 1 lb ground lamb. 1/2 lb ground beef. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tsp dried oregano. 1/2 tsp ground cumin. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 burger buns. 1 cup Greek yogurt. 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained. 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped. 1 tbsp lemon juice. 4 cups frozen French fries. 2 tsp olive oil. 1 tsp paprika. 1/2 tsp garlic powder. 1/2 tsp onion powder. 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper.
Instructions: In a bowl, combine the ground lamb, ground beef, breadcrumbs, red onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 burger patties. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a separate bowl, mix together Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, chopped dill, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use. In a large mixing bowl, toss the frozen French fries with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper until well coated. Spread them out on a baking sheet and bake according to the package instructions until crispy and golden brown. Assemble the gyro burgers by placing each patty on a bun and topping with a generous spoonful of tzatziki sauce. Serve the gyro burgers alongside the seasoned French fries.
