Stocked up on my favorite @genucan , cranberry-raspberry. 😍. . If you enjoy doing strength and/or endurance training while following a ketogenic diet, you really should give UCan a try. It will take your training to another level and will not hinder ketosis. . This is the stuff I used during my competition prep that helped me to keep hitting personal records while in a 1000 calorie deficit. The only time my strength took a hit is when I stopped using it pre-workout, about a week before the competition. . I ran out of it for a while and went back to cyclical keto. Now that I am stocked up again, I will be going back to a more strict keto approach. Some might call it targeted keto, but I have a really hard time calling it that. For TKD most people have some sort of fast-digesting, high-glycemic carb like dextrose pre-workout that kicks them out of ketosis for around half of the day. UCan does not do that. The insulin response from it is less than a whey protein shake, and through the experiment I participated in with @dannyvega.ms I found that it actually even increased blood ketone levels. . New product from @genucan ... Their great ketosis-friendly superstarch + whey! . The flavor of this one is cookies and cream. Like all of their other flavors the taste is rather subtle and nowhere near overly sweet. . Recently I have been taking half of a scoop of their regular superstarch pre-workout and then taking a serving of this right after my workout. That is about 34g of their superstarch in total. I am essentially using it as a form of TKD except, unlike other sources of carbs often used with TKD, this one does not hinder ketosis. Not even briefly. I'm talking not at all. The last pic was a test taken with my @ketomojo meter about 40 min after taking this post-workout. I usually hover around .6 - .9 when I test ketones (because I leverage a higher amount of protein). Ketones are a little lower for a bit after a workout as well, so a .6 is perfect for me. 👌🏼. In fact, I don't even count these carbs as part of my daily limit. On days that I am not eating carnivore, I still eat around 30g net carbs. . I bet that anyone who tries UCan, will feel the extra energy and power it provides. This is especially true if you are in a caloric deficit (from my own experience). I have been rocking with it for over 8 months now and can't imagine it not being part of my routine. These are some highlights from the @genucan experiment over the last 3 weeks. . During the last 3 weeks I have been part of a group, working with @dannyvega.ms , that has been using @genucan as a Pre-workout supplement. The purpose was to evaluate the effects on Ketosis. We measured blood ketones and glucose levels while fasted, after taking UCan, and after the workouts. . In one of the images I provides a set of these readings that were pretty typical for me. I normally saw a small increase in blood glucose after the UCan with pretty much zero impact on ketone levels. Ketones usually dropped a little bit post-workout, which is pretty typical anyways, due to burning through some of them. Over the past 3 weeks I was consistently able to stay in a state of ketosis. . As part of the experiment, the group followed a @ketomuscleintelligence program to help keep our efforts consistent. I followed the Advanced program and experienced gains in strength while averaging a 600 calorie deficit per day. As you can see in one of the images, I set new DB Row PRs at various rep ranges. I also managed to cut over 5lbs of fat in the process. . I really enjoyed the routine since it was primarily a full-body push/pull split (which I normally do). But since it was programmed quite differently, my entire body was sore the first week. I don't remember the last time I was that thoroughly sore. 😆 Especially my legs! It was great. . Who is this product for? If you are someone who is fat-adapted, and you consistently train with a high level of intensity, UCan is a great way to fuel your workouts with some extra glycogen power. .
