People talk about Komaeda’s luck and the trauma it gives him but I don’t think enough people do the same for Makoto, like sure his luck is less intense, but that’s still got to leave someone feeling at least a little unbalanced. Do you think he ever has a perfect morning and has a small panic attack about it because he’s certain something must have gone wrong somewhere and he’s going to be the only one who can fix it? Do you think someone throws him a surprise party and while he is genuinely thankful he afterwards counts all the ways it can suddenly or eventually backfire, stares at a tie he got as a gift and wonders if someone will ever steal it to frame him for murder. Do you think he’s secretly glad when strangers and coworkers are mean to him, because that means he’s more certain there’s no trick and are such more reliable then well meaning strangers?

I think having ultimate luck is an inherently traumatizing and paranoia inducing talent, and while it may not get to extremes for Makoto as compared to like Komaeda, I don’t think anyone with that talent would ever not retain a lot of trauma around it. Even if it manifests a lot more subconsciously.

DR1 everyone lives AU

Where Makoto accidentally breaks all murer weapons making them only almost kill people, but Monokuma tries to still have a calss trial for attempted murder (without the victim, obv), but Makoto also accidentally tripped over the mechanism that were used for the executions so everyone lives and is happy

Exemples:

-Mukuro tries fighting against Monokuma but before Monokuma impales her, Makoto walks up to her saying: "Hey, I know you're angry, I am too, but I don't think this is a good ide-" and then he trips and moves her out of the way before Monokuma kills her

-Leon goes to get his tool kit but earlier when Makoto was hanging out with him he accidentally broke it (so Sayaka is hurt, with the broken fist and all, but still alive)

-They have a trial for "attempted murder" (without Sayaka) but when Leon is about to be executed the ball-throwing machine doesn't turn on cuz Makoto tripped on the wire earlier and broke it

This whole AU is based around Makoto accidentally tripping every five seconds haha

I like how Makoto's luck differs from Nagito's but is still very lucky, like with Makoto something that seems bad happens (ex: the broken bathroom door or in this AU tripping on things a lot) but then ends up actially having been good luck all along (the broken bathroom door pointed to him not being the killer)

Aoi Asahina // Ultimate Lucky Student

(Ignore where it says Ultimate Detective and yes I’m aware her boobs are uneven that was a tracing accident)

Asahina is the protag!! I gave her a green hoodie even though it’s not part of her color palette because the other Lucky students had them. Her design is mostly based off Naegi’s, but I wanted her shirt to be showing so I put the design from her shorts there and made it red which I got the idea for from Komaeda’s design. Also, Hina and the detective will not end up together 🤭
