Cùmaro is one of the most important wines in the story of Umani Ronchi, and it can also be numbered among the founder members of the family of fine wines from the Conero area. It was created in the mid eighties to celebrate the Montepulciano variety of vine, and an area close to the sea with highly calcareous soils, using methods based on very strict selection of grapes in the vineyard and what were, at least for then, modern techniques of vinification and ageing. The name Cùmaro is a tribute to Mount Conero, komaros in Greek, which means ‘arbutus’: an ever- green shrub which grows freely in its woodlands. O primeiro vinho do almoço de ontem foi este italiano incomum, o “Fonte del Re 2010”, da pequena @UmaniRonchi. . É elaborado 100% com a rara uva Lacrima, autóctone dos arredores da vila de Morro d’Alba (província de Ancona) e raramente encontrada fora da região – a “DOC Lacrima di Morro d’Alba”. . O vinho não passa por madeira; é vinificado, faz fermentação malolática e “envelhecido” em tanques de aço inox por 4 meses. . Na taça, tem coloração granada e opaca, entregando a idade... Os aromas mostram frutas negras, bastante especiarias (pimenta-do-reino e canela), mentol e aromas tostados (decorrentes dos anos de evolução). Na boca mostrou corpo e acidez moderados, com taninos médio-baixos e muito macios. Aromas de boca de frutas e especiarias, com média persistência. . Um bom vinho, da excelente safra 2010, provavelmente no limite da guarda e que não deve melhorar com mais tempo na garrafa. Foi a primeira vez que provei esse vinho que não conhecia...
