Zijwieltjes

Baltimore Screening Pass-palooza: "The Mummy"! #FreeScreenings #UMCU @Monstersverse
I’ve been stoked for the start of the Universal Monsters Universe ever since I first heard about it. So I’m just as stoked to share passes for the Baltimore screening of The Mummy, Universal’s first film in what I hope will be a long, awesome, series of glorious monster madness. Synopsis!
Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess whose destiny…

Screwed as always...
The bad thing about having so many time between movies of the UMCU (Universal Monster Cinematic Universe) it’s I’m already a lowkey shipper of Dracula (Luke Evans) and the Mummy Queen (Sofia Boutella); althrough I don’t know if the Queen would survive her movie (and also Dracula and Mina) so I will probably suffer alone because it’s a crackship and I will be the only shipper in the world.
I’m guessing after the frankenwolf fiasco in Ouat I’m still with the “monster to monster” thing...

CHARACTER ARCHETYPES: UNIVERSAL MONSTERS CINEMATIC UNIVERSE EDITION
The Ruler -- Vlad Dracula, The Prince of Darkness
Once a warrior prince with a dark past, after the loss of his wife and his son--his morality and his light--Vlad Dracula fully embraced his monstrous nature as a vampire. Alone in the darkness for centuries, he became darkness itself, seeking to prepare for the inevitable war with the Master Vampire who made him--at whatever cost, by whatever means. He therefore assembles a makeshift group, a “family” of sorts, consisting of every monster and dark creature he can find. Once reunited with his light, Mina Murray, the Prince of Darkness regains part of himself he thought was lost, and feels prepared not only to defeat his enemy, but to protect the innocent as well.
The Ruler archetype aspires to take responsibility for their lives, and in all their fields of endeavor. If they overcome the temptation to dominate others, the developed Ruler can create environments that invite in the gifts and voices of all concerned. The Ruler's quest is to create order and effective structure, build a “kingdom” of sorts. This is not necessarily an easy task, as order and chaos are not far apart, and so the Ruler commits fully to the task. However, they can sometimes slip into craving ultimate authority, to gaining power at any price, and to controlling all around them with an iron fist.
this is just part of fun fancasting thing I was doing, using some of the rumors and actual casting that has been floating around Universal’s upcoming Cinematic Monsters Universe thus far (x). I figured I’d do something jazzy with character archetypes, since all Universal’s major characters seemed to fit so well into their particular categories. and after researching the historical and symbolic significance of the archetypes and the number’s meaning, it seemed fitting to do something like this. for more information on the upcoming Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe, see here (x). for the full pantheon of fancasted monsters/character archetypes, see here (x).

The Sage -- Mina Murray, The Light of All Lights
The clever, brave, and good-hearted Mina Murray is the soulmate of the Prince of Darkness himself, a reincarnation of his long-lost wife Mirena; and it is she, not any of the men who doubt her, who stops him from destroying all that is dear to her with the strength of her will and her grace alone. She returns to him afterwards, pulling him out of the darkness he has been steeped in for so long, and remains a great light of wisdom, compassion, and love even after she chooses to be turned into a vampire. She stays with her lover, the light to his darkness, her strength a balance to his.
The Sage archetype seeks the truths that will set them and others free. If the Sage overcomes dogmatic beliefs they have been taught without questioning, they become truly wise, seeing the world clearly. They may choose their best path based on objective analyses of the results of their actions and choices. The Sage is a seeker of truth, and goes to great lengths in search of knowledge. The danger for the Sage is their deep fear is that their hard-won wisdom is built on the sand of falsehood, and their tendency to doubt and be overly critical of not only others, but also themselves.

CHARACTER ARCHETYPES: UNIVERSAL MONSTERS CINEMATIC UNIVERSE EDITION
The Magician -- Ancksunamun, The Mummy
Ancksunamun was the unwilling wife of the pharoah, who secretly became a powerful sorceress in effort to regain power. After murdering her husband with her lover, Imhotep, both fled the Pharoah’s forces to Hamanaptra, City of the Dead. Ancksunamun used her magic to curse and entomb them both, to return with her consort someday and conquer the world. After being accidentally awoken by a group of American soldiers in present-day, she fights and is defeated by the most heroic among them--trapped again with her consort beneath the sands of the desert. When Dracula frees her, he convinces her to choose to live in the shadows of the human world, exercising her power unseen, rather than overtly conquering it.
The Magician archetype searches out the fundamental laws and forces of the universe to understand how to transform situations, influence people, and make visions into realities. If the Magician can overcome the temptation to use power manipulatively, they can galvanize their power for good. The Magician's quest is to transform or change their world, or someone/something in it. The Magician has significant power and as such may be feared. They may also fear themselves and their potential to do harm. Their ultimate goal is to transform themselves and achieve a higher plane of existence.
