Someone: I have a family to feed and can't risk getting in trouble by refusing to do my job to go to protests etc, I am too vulnerable to take drastic action but instead I am spreading it so people who can do more can help too

Basically some of you think if someone isn't willing to risk their income, safety, etc to go to protests, make huge public statements and similar such activities and would rather just spread around information so that others in a better position to help can do something, they're automatically someone who doesn't give a shit/is lazy/is only pretending to care. If you can't understand that someone may be in a position that they cannot do anything to risk their job, I am jealous of your ignorance and apparent privilege. Not everyone has brilliant qualifications that can get them a new job if they're fired, not everyone can fall back onto large amounts of savings, not everyone has a family who can support them.
Ps if anyone sees this and decides they just wanna come for me with reblogs or something I don't really care, I cba with it. (If you want to give another perspective then that's great and I encourage it as it's good to learn and know a different perspective, all I ask is keep it civil? Petty Tumblr arguments are so draining.) I know full well from what I'm studying that there are people in financial situations that in this context would leave them unable to refuse work even if it went against their morals, and I personally think that good people should not be shamed for trying to keep themselves and their families alive. I don't agree with adding to the stresses of poor people just because they want to afford food.
If someone is doing the best they can, they should be encouraged not torn down. If we all focus on doing what we can rather than whether or not other people's attempts are good enough, we can make progress much faster. Focus on helping immigrants (and other vulnerable people of course, it's just that this rant was triggered by people arguing over how to help immigrants) rather than shaming others for not being able to do as much. If you really care about immigrants, you'll be more bothered about helping them than shaming other helpers for "less effort".
