I have never seen that head mold before, but she’s giving me huge “asian doll” vibes, but other than Kurhn and Licca, I’m pretty much lost.
INFO NEEDED.
A friend asked me for advice on which body (obitsu, pure neemo) would be best for this doll. Anyone know the neck connections involved here?
editing to add it’s not cherry, not jerry berry, not ddung, not mimi or doran and I now know entirely too much about korean fashion dolls
So I went to the thrift store a couple weeks ago and got my hands on these two dolls.
I plan on customizing them into something more original, but out of pure curiosity, can anyone help me identify them?
I think the Monster High doll is Moanica D’Kay, but I’m not 100% sure because every single Moanica D’Kay doll I’ve looked up online only looks similar to this one. I haven’t been able to find one that looks exactly like this one.
And I have absolutely no clue who the doll on the left is. My best guess is something Disney or Ever After High? I really don’t know. I’m hoping someone has a better idea than me XD
Anyway, if anyone can help me identify what character the Monster High doll is and who the doll on the left is period, I would super appreciate it!!
Can Anyone Tell Me What Kind of Doll This Is?
The unknown souvenir doll (?) from that last thrift haul!
Her hips are so BIG.
She appears to be specifically marked on her back with Mi Mi (or... MI MI in all caps? Or M1 M1 ??) N. 22, M. Grande Portugal. I’ve been trying to look her up but haven’t been able to find anything.
In the vein of “accidentally collecting,” when @prismatic-bell and I hit Goodwill Friday, I found this on one of the pegs. Our Goodwills around here have ALL their fashion dolls mult-bagged like this, so I pass up a LOT of potentially-interesting dolls because there are 3 or 4 others in the bag that I’m not interested in.
The yellow cape caught my attention, because I was pretty sure I recognized the pattern. The face did speak “Vintage” to me, but vaguely, in an “I know I’ve seen this before.” I was first thinking it was the TNT mold, with a different faceup than I was used to. It wasn’t until this morning that I got the dolls out of the bag and looked for the mold markings. (If you’re a vintage collector, you won’t get the same surprise I did). 1977, Ideal. This is NOT a Barbie, but a Tuesday Taylor! I’m still pretty sure the cape is from Pretty Changes Barbie, and I have no idea about the dress. There are no tags, just a penciled “K.D.” inside the skirt. It makes me think it’s either an ambitious homemade dress, or a clone dress. Her hair is pretty crispy, but I like the two-tone blonde.
As for the other girl, her head is marked “Made in China,”, and her body mold just has hearts on her rear-end. Searching “doll with hearts on butt” was, uh, NOT useful, to say the least. Even WITH Safe Search on. But her hair looks like she might be a good candidate for Tiffy.
I still don't know this beautiful dolls line but I have decided to call her willow. She's been my little joy for the past while. I've really loved playing around with her hair so much. It's so soft!
