AU where Rumi isn't chosen by the Honmoon because she's half demon.
Rumi grows up watching Celine devote her life to find and train the next generation of hunters. Both out of duty and in order to help Rumi in the long run. Celine is convinced the golden Honmoon will help Rumi get rid of her patterns and allow her to have a normal life.
From the start Celine tries to keep Rumi away from the spotlight in fear the world finds out about her patterns. And since she isn't forced to be part of the next generation of hunters, Celine tries to keep her away from idol life. She wants something better for her. A calmer, less demanding life.
Rumi, however, is an extremely talented singer — she's Miyeong's daughter and Celine's adopted daughter after all. She learnt to sing and play several instruments (Celine might not want her to be an idol, but she loves sharing music with her daughter) and Rumi absolutely loves it, to the point she wishes to be a musician. But Celine insists she shouldn't pursue a career that will draw too much attention and force impossible standards on her.
The thing is, Rumi can't think of anything else. She wishes to follow Celine's and Miyeong's steps. She feels a deep conection to music she can't ignore. And to her bad luck, she has to grow up watching Celine dedicate her life to help these three other girls fulfill her dream.
To make matters worse, the three of them come to live with them, forcing Rumi to hide even in her own home (Celine is a bit more accepting of Rumi's patterns in this AU, since she isn't a hunter and the faults and fears won't affect her as much, and as long as she keeps them hidden from other people and stays safe).
It's hard for Rumi at the beginning, but with time she warms up to Mira and Zoey. The both of them are incredibly nice to her and they bond over music. Mira and Zoey admire Rumi's talent to the point they even try to encourage her to follow her dreams and become a musician (maybe join their group even if she isn't a hunter?)
The third hunter (I haven't got a name for her — it must be a thing with thirds at this point lol) isn't so accepting of Rumi. She's needlessly mean, perhaps out of jealousy for Rumi's "privilege", and keeps reminding Rumi the three of them have a mission bigger than music itself, and that all Rumi does is distract Mira and Zoey.
Celine isn't at all pleased with this, but she has to put up with it and deal as best as she can for the sake of the Honmoon and helping Rumi.
