Which shinigami in Soul Society do you think want it to be more like earth/more modern the most? And are they obvious about it or not?

Ah!! Thanks for the fun question! Let me start by saying that I know the Seireitei is based off of Edo Period Japan. However, I definitely feel like they have some modern luxuries outside of what we see, like ‘phones’. So, I’m using that theory as my starting point.

*As a group, I think the Visoreds that returned to the Soul Society after being in the World of the Living for so long would be the first people clamoring for technology. They witnessed firsthand some huge technological advancements and adapted to the changes they brought. There’s no way they’d give it up easily.

*Kensei and Lisa are largely laid back about it. Lisa is old school anyway, she prefers reading her smut in hard copy and has an impressive collection. Kensei had grown used to better work-out equipment and the occasional cooking tool, so he quietly squirreled those things away in his house - with or without the permission of Central 46. He was not going to wait for their permission. (In case you’re wondering, yes, he still harbors a little bit of resentment for the way the were treated. Just a little lot.)

*Mashiro is by far the most vocal about it, followed by Shinji. However, Shinji is more calculated in his complaints. He knows you catch more flies with honey – and he has the most tempting honey out there. Or so he thinks.

*Jazz! Shinji introduces anyone and everyone who will listen to the amazing things he has, jazz being the first on the list. Maybe music isn’t your big thing, perhaps you like books. Well, you’ve gotta check out this ‘e-book’ thing the humans made, its fantastic. You can carry dozens of books in the palm of your hand.

*Shinji would find what you love most in the world, show you the technology to make that thing even better and walk away with a shit eating grin. Half the Seireitei would be clamoring for the new tech.

*I also HC that the Visoreds probably go to Kisuke when they want/need something and don’t want the rest of the Seireitei to know about it. That man and his secrets…

*Kisuke wouldn’t care much about the conveniences found in the modern world. He can make way better stuff for himself anyway.

*Which leads him to a potential profitable business venture. (C’mon, you had to know that the Shop wasn’t his only source of revenue, right?!)

*Kisuke is an entrepreneur who seized an opportunity. I firmly believe that Kisuke ran (probably still runs it, tbh) an underground ‘market’ of sorts for the cool new human tech. Just think of him as your friendly, still pervy, neighborhood personal shopper. Kisuke’s motto: ‘If I can’t make it, you don’t want it.’ And there isn’t anything Kisuke can’t make.

Nanao is meticulous in her job, she’s learnt and memorised how to make everything on the menu.

Being creative is not her forte but that’s fine, she’s asked others at work for help and has learnt to regret coffees and drinks from other chain cafes and coffee shops. 

Her least favourite part is interacting with customers, not because she can’t but she knows she can come across as too annoyed when customers are being, well annoying. So she prefers to be making drinks or working on the books in the back office.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi Soul Mate AU, please! That Kensei one got me RIGHT in the adorable feels.

Didn’t expect this one to get so long but here we are XD Enjoy~

Mayuri is confused.

And Mayuri is very many things but confused is never one of them. 

And yet he’s replaced every part of his being at some point and these words still cling to him. 

They’re the most mundane of words that cling to his forearm like a disease. Just a simple greeting - but at least he’s always known he would be captain of some kind. Maybe the one thing that saved Urahara Kisuke from Mayuri ousting him himself.

Mayuri barely responds to being greeted by anyone. When he bothers thinking about what his soul mate’s words might be, he imagines them to be completely unrelated. That his soul mate will greet him and 2 months later, Mayuri says their words.

As it turns out, he’s in a foul mood when his soul mate greets him and he makes some scathing remark back. He’s confused by the awe on their face. No they should be upset, he just said something horrible and then they reveal to him who they are.

He would reject them immediately. That the whole concept is unscientific and he has no need for a soul mate. If he wanted the perfect person for him, he’d create them.

Maybe his soul mate agrees and that in itself intrigues Mayuri - or annoys him more - he wants to be the one in control but you just agreed so you’re both in control and he doesn’t like that. 

I could see him being won around eventually to pursue some kind of relationship but you might as well not be soul mates and it be a regular courting for all the work that goes into it.

Akon Medieval AU! Does he live in a ill kept tower or a cave in the middle of a swamp? Thank you lmao.

Omg yes, been awhile since I got some Akon to talk about! 

He’s definitely lived in both. He doesn’t care too much about his living conditions so long as he has everything and it’s convenient. 

So when he needs things from a swamp for his latest experiments he’ll just set himself up in a cave. Whatever, he doesn’t care, he has light and heat and running, clean water in no time.

Akon doesn’t have a lot of possessions and he certainly moves around a lot. Many people know about him or have heard tale of him but few people actually know him.

It’s no until he settles in at Urahara’s castle that he stays still. Urahara thinks it’s ridiculous that Akon moves around to get things. They can just have them delivered! 

The delivery is fast so he mostly stays put but he’ll disappear off travelling on occasion - he just gets kind of restless after his nomadic lifestyle.
