Eventually, Wei Wuxian will start his first heat while ensconced in the isolated building with no one but Lan Wangji to help him.
The start of the heat is the tipping point for the whole transformation. He officially becomes an Omega when he mates with Lan Wangji.
You know, it’s hard for teenagers to control their instincts, so it’s not Lan Wangji’s fault when he gives in to an omega in the midst of their heat. It’s not his fault when he takes the omega again and again because he fell into a rut. “It’s not that uncommon,” the head medic explains to the Jiang’s. “I’ve heard of a few cases of false presentation in my day. In fact, the late Madam Lan herself suffered from the same condition.”
And of course Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji must now marry as soon as possible to save themselves and their sects from scandal.
Wei Wuxian wants to be mad but his heat was the greatest pleasure he has ever experienced in his life (what a virgin), and Lan Wangji is not so much a stick in the mud as he is shy and he’s taken such good care of the new omega throughout this whole ordeal and the alpha seems to really love his new mate, and Wei Wuxian really does owe the Jiang’s for taking him in (him, the lowly son of a servant), so the least he can do is secure a marriage alliance between the two sects.
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian cuddle in their bed and Lan Wangji soothes his mates fears about their upcoming parenthood.
Who could have anticipated that he would become pregnant from his very first heat. It’s almost as if he had been taking fertility herbs. Crazy right?
Lan Xichen smiles at the cozy scene before going and locking the transformation scrolls (the only ones in the world, a practice that one of their ancestors created and perfected) in the Lan Sect vault.
