Another attempt at drawing in the Dragon Age comic style, meant to take place right after "Until We Sleep", where Alistair finally came back to his wife in Denerim after putting an end to his father's misery 💔

Was looking up images of Alistair and just now realized Dark Horse made his eye grey/blue instead of the amber brown.

WHAT THE HECK DARK HORSE??? HIS EYES ARE LIKE ONE OF HIS BEST FEATURES. smfh

rereading the DA comics and i love my rogue bastards & their dynamic

chewing on this very specific scene rn. maevaris seemingly being willing to let someone else shoulder the responsibility for stopping titus and being fully aware that everything about this scene is fake, but still wanting to stay anyways. and then the illusion is fully broken the moment varric reminds her of what titus did to her. the way her expression just goes completely flat. im. agh.

These images are what sparked my current fixation... That cloak. Angsty King Alistair. All of Isabela’s backstory.

I remember reading the comics when they first came out and struggling to adapt to a Thedas that didn’t have my choices. But they grew on me and revisiting them sparked an interest in the dynamic between Alistair and Isabela and the growth of Alistair’s character. Plus the bonus of Varric and friendship scenes with Isabela.

And now I am firmly in the depths of rare pair hell.

I just re-read Silent Grove and Until We Sleep while sort of mentally substituting my own world state in and ... god, Alistair really is just fucking miserable if you make him king.
