had something of a thought so here's a kavetham doodle except they're carl and ellie from up (one of my friends said this was the weirdest crossover ever but personally i think i can and will do worse)
Since I’m a sucker for making tons of au’s I thought, hmm... Time for some angst. So many of you might remember the heartbreaking introduction to the beloved movie Up with Ellie and Carl. (I think you see where I’m going with this)
In this AU, Chris is Ellie. Because of course, I’m a sucker for Chrangst (Chris Angst)
Hi ate cakes! How about Levi and Hange as Carl and Ellie from UP? 👉👈
so this is more... Up inspired? based on this scene from Up, and then it's just levihan as kids in a canonverse setting! hope u like it!!
“Get back here!”
The shopkeeper yelled down the dimly lit street, a small shadow finding its way around the corner. Tripping over uneven cobblestones, a small boy scurried away frantically. When an old, abandoned house reached his line of sight, he dashed madly towards it. While turning into it, he slapped his hand over his mouth, holding his breath as the shopkeeper paused in front of the doorway he stood just behind. After grumbling some obscenities, the man hurried off, and the boy sighed in relief.
Levi knew his mother didn’t like when he’d steal, but he couldn’t help it. They were both hungry—he’d tell her that some nice woman gave it to him... or something like that. He realized his mother probably saw through his lies, but he didn’t care. As long as she had something to eat.
As he stuffed the two freshly baked pastries into his backpack, he heard something peculiar, and froze.
Yelling sounded from above him, the sound of excited footsteps stomping on the creaky floorboards. Levi darted to the other side of the room—the whole place looked like it was about to fall apart. Who would be dumb enough to do that?
“Dedicate your heart!” echoed triumphantly throughout the house.
Levi heard more and more yelling as he crept up the steps, trying his hardest not to make a sound. He peeped his head just from behind the wall, hoping his dark hair would simply blend in with the old, dark walls.
A small kid, probably around the same age as him, ran around the room, a dark green blanket wrapped around her like a cape, a vaguely familiar drawing of wings taped messily onto the back. Levi tilted his head to the side in curiosity: from the way she was dressed, she was not from around here… not from the Underground, at least. He wondered how she found herself here of all places, and... why she was playing all by herself.
Suddenly, she gasped loudly, scaring Levi out of his wits.
“A Titan!” She yelled, whipping out two small wooden swords, and began swinging at the air, a fierce determination yet soft wonder in her eyes as she slashed the imaginary Titans in front of her.
Levi felt his curiosity taking the best of him—which he found particularly unusual. But he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He snuck up the last few steps and behind the wall of the second room before she could turn to see. And there he saw, snippets of newspaper articles all about the Scout legion, fighting Titans and discovering what lay beyond the walls up above ground—all taped haphazardly onto the tattered walls of the house. Levi found himself smiling—the thought of the outside world, the sky, grass, trees—he had always wondered what that all really looked like. For a moment, Levi felt his worries slip from him, his eyes lit up in excitement and wonder.
“Ow!” Levi yelled.
A solid bonk on the head knocked him out of his reverie.
“What are you doing here?!”
Levi raised his hands up, letting his bag plop down onto the creaky floorboards, wincing as he felt the spot on his head throbbing.
The kid poked one of her swords at his chest.
“Not everyone has what it takes to be in the Scouting Legion! This secret club is for kids who want to be a Scout someday...”
Levi coughed.
“Answer me! Do you have what it takes??” She pushed her sword into his chest a little harder.
Levi thought back to all the articles on the wall right behind her, the thought of the sky... the world up above the life he always knew here below... the idea of a beautiful world beyond the walls... if he had to fight titans for it, then so be it!
Nodding his head frantically, Levi agreed, squeezing his eyes shut in preparation for another bonk on the head.
The kid dropped her weapons and smiled wide—a goofy smile, several teeth missing and nothing but genuine kindness in her eyes. She reached out her hand for him to shake.
“Ok! You’re in the club! The name’s Hange by the way, and oh wait you’re gonna love my trusty dogs, Sawney and Bean! And ohhh I gotta get you some gear and—“
The room fell completely silent as Hange gasped.
Levi’s eyes grew wide—unsure of what was to follow.
“You’re bleeding!” Hange exclaimed, pointing at a cut on his cheek. His hand reflexively touched where she pointed, and he stared at the sticky, red blood on his fingertips.
“Sit down!! I’ll be back!” she yelled as she ran away.
——————
“You got this after stealing didn’t you?”
Levi looked away as Hange’s face hovered inches from his own. She dabbed an alcohol swab gently over the cut, Levi exhaling through his grit teeth. He remained quiet otherwise.
“Well I’ve heard that shopkeeper yell about being stolen from a lot whenever I come by here, and I saw the pastries in your bag!”
Levi looked down, feeling a little ashamed.
“I applaud your efforts to survive!” She yelled, fist in the air, almost scaring Levi off the chair.
“But my parents own a bakery, so don’t worry, you don’t have to do that anymore!”
She finished up her job by taping a piece of gauze over his cheek.
“We’re teammates now, ok?? Remember, you’re in the club!!”
She pinned a small drawing of scout wings onto his bag, and smiled brightly at him.
“Ok! See you next week then!” she exclaimed as she grabbed her things. Stopping in front of Levi, she put a fist up to her heart. “Promise?”
Levi nodded, and mirrored her salute. With that, Hange laughed, clumsily stomped down the stairs, and ran home... to wherever that was. He’d be sure to ask next time.
Levi stood, dumbfounded over what just occurred. He stared at the wings on his backpack, and smiled. He wasn’t too sure why, but all he knew was that he was looking forward to seeing Hange again next week.
