Read somewhere and it’s so deep;
“Sab mila aur Rabb na mila matlab kuch na mila.”
The evening arrived without announcing itself. The sky, once painted in warm gold, slowly surrendered to shades of ash and indigo. The wind wandered through abandoned streets, carrying the scent of rain that never fell. A lone tree stood motionless, its leaves whispering secrets to no one. Somewhere, an old swing creaked without a child, and a forgotten book lay open on a windowsill, its pages fluttering as though searching for the hands that once cherished it.
The room was dim except for a tired lamp casting fragile circles of light. Dust floated like tiny memories suspended in time. A cup of tea had long grown cold beside an unread letter. The clock continued its duty, but every tick only deepened the silence. Outside, birds had already found their homes; inside, loneliness still searched for one.
Udaasi sat quietly in the corner—not as a storm, but as an old companion. It spoke through unsent messages, empty chairs at dinner tables, the fragrance of someone who no longer visits, and songs that hurt more than they comfort. It was the ache of remembering laughter in rooms now occupied only by echoes.
Yet even within this melancholy, the moon rose faithfully above the rooftops, wrapping the world in silver. The stars appeared one by one, as if reminding the night that darkness is never completely alone. Somewhere beyond the silence, dawn was already preparing its first ray.
Perhaps that is the nature of udaasi: it teaches the heart to listen to quiet things—the rustling leaves, the patient moon, the fading perfume of memories—and to believe that even the longest night carries the promise of morning.
main dil pe jabr karunga tujhe bhula dunga
marunga khud bhi tujhe bhi kadi saza dunga
ye tergi mere ghar ka he kyuun muqaddar ho
main tere shahr ke saare diye bujha dunga
hava ka haath bataunga har tabahi mein
hare shajar se parinde main khud udaa dunga
wafa karunga kisi sogvar chehre se
purani qabr pe katba naya saja dunga

Kya ye aapne mehsoos kiya hai kabhi? Jab kisi maqbooliyat ki sa'at me aap Allah ke aagay haath phailayen baithe hote hain....khaas waqt...jaise Jumuah ke din Asr ke baad wali ghari...jaise Mataaf me baithe, baarishon me bhigte hue aapki nazrein kaaba par ruki hon, aapki hatheliyan aapke Rabb ki baargah me uthi hain, yun ke aapko yaqeen hai, iss waqt aapke zuban se nikalne wali har iltija aapke liye unn phaili hathrliyon me puri karke daal di jayegi...? Uss lamha e qubooliyat me aap har wo Dua karlete hain, jo aapki ruh me muqeed hai. Aap har uss insan ka naam le lete hain, jo aapke liye khaas hai. Har wo insan jo aapki zindagi me hai ya guzar chuka. Lekin chand naam yun chalay aate hain, jaise mehman hon koi. Na dosti ka talluq na koi qurabatdari. Lekin unke naam yun aajate hain aapki duaon me jaise parinda pani par udti machhli ko jhapak ke ek lamhe me apna rizq utha le jaye. Lekin kuch naam, kuch naam aise hote hain, jo aapke dil ki dehliz par aakar thehar jate hain...shanasa se wo naam, jinke lene se shayad qarb umad aaye ya shayad koi bhi tassur na ho...lekin wo naam bas wahin tak ruk jate hain, na unka hissa duaon me aa paata hai na zehn koi alfaz jabran bhi unke liye bunta hai. Bas Yun jaise unn naamon par aapki duaon ko chup lag gayi ho. Aap unhe yun uss dil ki dehliz se utar ke kisi aur khane me undel dete hain, laparwahi se...ke haram me bitayi uss sa'at ke ikhtitam tak wo naam aapko bhul jate hain, daraz me ghum kisi shay ki manind. Mai sochti hun, ke dil itna behiss to nh tha unke liye, to phir ek saada si dua bhi hum kyun na maang paaye unke liye....lekin phir ek udaas karne wali sargoshi me koi kehta hai, ke dil ko takleef pahonchane walay logo'n ki saza yahi hoti hai, ke aapki duaon se unka rizq utha diya jaata hai.

A poetry written by me in my teenage 🥀
Waqt e safar hai ahad, aur ye bhi to dekho Main ruki hui hoon aur ye sheher ja raha hai,
Mera saya mujhse pehle bhaagta hai ek or, Kehta hai use rok lo vo ja raha hai,
Zindagi ek tees hai, main kaisi angdaayi loon, Chaak e dil angdaayi se phat-ta ja raha hai...
Humein apni manzilon ki koi khabar nahi hai, Nikle yaha se to dekhein kon kis samt ja raha hai.....
Ye tawaquf (delay) main jaan kar kar rahi hoon, mujhey pata hai mera intezar Kiya ja raha hai,.
When Mir Taqi Mir said, "Ashq aankhon mein kab nahin aata? Lahu aata hai jab nahin aata"
And when Talha Anjum said, "Teri nazar mein aisa suroor, jaise bahay ashq nahi balkay sharaab he."
-
