So I have chronic nausea. If I eat I feel sick and if I don’t eat I feel sick so I kinda just have to push through it sometimes.
One day I was feeling really miserable and didn’t even want to try to eat a snack, but my friend suggested that I eat just one walnut. I started joking about it being the the “<friend name> walnut challenge” and you know what? Most of the time I can eat more than one walnut, and I get a tiny sense of accomplishment, and I think of her and I laugh.
I know it might seem really obvious that something is better than nothing, but sometimes it’s good to have a reminder, and to find a way to reframe things in a way that build you up instead of setting goals that set you up to be disappointed.
