So this is Vacher’s ending cutscene… “Oceanid?” mind hive made of all his victims huh. The (English) voice-acting, wow—so filled with emotion. (Though if only the NPC model expressions were as well.) The shots with all the women’s shadows flashing was unsettling too. Beautiful editing with the glitch effects.
But on top of that, she also said that because… it’s her final drop of pity for you.
She said that because she knew… That if you did come here, “we”… will show no mercy to you…
The shot for this line above (4:54), with the camera pulling back from the Oceanid with the subtle vignette and the glitch effect plus camera shake, with all the women’s shadows facing in. Wonderful, very menacing
And this shot. Even though the NPC expressions were bland, the thing the animators did with the eyes—especially with Vigneire front and center—and the way they’re all standing still makes it very unsettling too. Isn’t stillness and symmetry a common composition for psychological horror?
