I had only seen the pilot, music video, and Angel’s comic. Still, even if I agree that it’s wrong Valentino is getting attention, I feel not all criticisms of the show are valid? Some of them simply seem too quick or too picky to me. Like claiming a show CANNOT have themes if we didn’t see them in the pilot. For example, we didn’t see Zuko’s arc in ep 1 of ATLA, or even Aang’s. It is strange to claim the themes proposed by the creator are lies when we have only seen the pilot and prequel comics.

I was just pointing out that not every criticism is legit, but not every critique is nit-picking either. Because of the large content gap, fans/antis/stans are grasping at straws to make sense of what little vague information they have been given.  

But I agree, I currently feel this way about the fandom. The extreme sides are attacking each other when there is little OFFICIAL info to go off of and they seem to be fighting about Spindlehorse as a production company more than the actual content, which is a whole different argument.

(1/?) Okay but here’s my little rant I hate the phrases “You look like you have an eating disorder” and “are you anorexic?” like what? They literally feel like a punch to the gut for me, like all my hard work in recovery was for nothing! And it makes people are built skinny feel bad and gives them issues with their self-confidence! Not to mention those phrases feed into eating disorder stereotypes. Like “only skinny white girls can have anorexia/other eating disorders” when it’s not the case!

I'm gonna play devil's advocate for Ciro. I feel like any frustration he had that channeled through the finale was probably from being harassed and bullied by some fans, especially the 'feminist' fans after a few harmless comments. That and over shipping. So if it was all out of frustration, I can understand on his part. It's a reason why I hope the TMNT fandom doesn't become like the Steven Universe or Voltron fandoms...

I to encountered some feminists who were always so nasty towards the show, no doubt he got the worse feedback. I didnt make that any better as of recent. I can understand where he’s coming from. He was mad, annoyed, not only probably with some fans but with Nick as well. He always talked about boundaries, and stuff like that, which I can relate, boundaries suck especially when you got an awesome idea and then it doesnt get accepted, or something? And the fans whining all the time didnt help. Oh yes, the shipping wars didnt help either. Oh my god.

The fandom, this fandom can be great, but not so much on tumblr, I had to block a few big tmnt blogs just cause they kept spamming the main tag with whining about either how women on the show get treated unfair and gets shipped with the guys automatically, which tbh you CANT blame that kinda stuff on the creators. If Ciro ships the girls with the guys and wants to express that with his show, he did so, and it depends on the fans, so he cant be blamed for that, along with that fiasco I saw constantly how the women were always damsels or something stupid like that. It got bad at some point I know.

I also remember that whole RaMona fiasco, I mean, I may not like the guy right now, ((not hate)) but Im not gonna harass him just cause of a silly ship I dont like is canon. I felt sorry for him, and in a way I still do.

I know thats crazy since I went full bitch mode on him in my recent rants, but I cant help but to feel his pain somewhat, and I can see why he just wanted TMNT to end with his show ((At least thats what I got out of this?)) He didnt want his reboot to be ruined kinda like how Teen Titans was. ((Which I completely understand that)) but as I said before, there was a better way in ending this series then taking that anger and frustration out on the fans who stayed loyal all throughout these five years. But thats my thoughts.
