vscott lets go of vavid really quickly. he doesn’t forget about him, or brush it off, but he doesn’t let himself stew in the mourning of someone he didn’t really know (he stews in everything else though don’t worry he’s not mentally healthy or anything. god can you imagine)

but everyone expects him to be mourning more than he is. he visits vavid’s grave and vshelby looks at him pitifully, like she expects his future life and relationships to be shaped by this one encounter. vcleo starts to treat him like he’s fragile whenever he visits. and, well, they know so much more about feelings that he does, so maybe he isn’t properly good yet. does the fact that he doesn’t shape himself around the death of vavid make him a bad person ?

well, he doesn’t know. but vshelby and vdrift still aren’t ready to let go of him (vshelby writes him into their book. vdrift refuses to take certain cases if their too similar.), and they know about their emotions, and they’re good. so, he pretends. he’ll act like he never got over vavid, he’ll act like it was avid that taught him how to love, and he’ll be good. surely it’s empathy that defines how good a person you are ?
