Desumanos - s/t LP - Brazilian surf rock
Desumanos´ fresh mixture of guitar driven melodies is as evocative as it is playful. From their native Brazil, the band casts uncompromising surf scents on a handful of songs that also drop in the mix African rhythms, cumbia and lambada. This instrumental project is made up of a dream-team of producers and musicians: Kassin (bass), who was member of The +2´s and co-produced Gilles Peterson’s Brazilian project Sonzeira, and former Os Mutantes member Liminha (guitar), as well as Felipe and Manoel Cordeiro (guitar), one of the lambada originators, and Stephane San Juan (drums), currently playing with David Byrne.

Vampisoul (Madrid, Spain) is at it again. They are reissuing the complete output of Peruvian artist Monik (Mónica Guerrero). This is South American 1960s pop at its finest.
"Maybe I Know" (a cover of Lesley Gore) comes first, and is amazing. But the three songs that come after that are equally impressive. Sounds of The Beatles or a slowed down Pipettes aboud on this 4-song gem.
And the tunes went on and on and on... #cumbia #cumbiaperuana #peru #vampisoul #thecure #spacemen3 #kitchensofdistinction #shoegaze #sonicyouth #cocteautwins #gong #gazeuse #jazzfusion #dreampop #music #musica #musique #80smusic
Os Sambeatles - 1966 Beatles covers album from Brazil, just reissued on vinyl by Vampisoul
Rare 1966 Brazilian album with a jazz/bossa nova take on songs by the Beatles, all served up with plenty of great keyboard work from the legendary Manfredo Fest who would later become member of the Sergio Mendes band. The songs are all played with imaginative scents that really take them from their roots as pop songs and open them up as groovers filled with keyboard improvisations. First time vinyl reissue.
Litto Nebbia - Bazar de los milagros
Space jazz-folk masterpiece infused with prog scents from one of the true legends of Argentinian rock. Floating electric piano, acoustic guitar, female choirs and moog sounds combine with Litto’s own voice and create a unique blend of delicate beauty. First vinyl reissue, including a facsimile version of the 32-page booklet that accompanied the original 1976 release, and remastered sound. Includes the song ‘La Caída’, as sampled on Jay Electronica/Jay Z’s ‘The Neverending Story’. Listed on Chee Shimizu’s Obscure Sound guidebook for record collectors.

Travesía were a Uruguayan band, and "Ni Un Minuto Más de Dolor" was originally released in 1983. It is being reissued by Vampisoul (Madrid, Spain).
The Bandcamp page describes Travesía as part of the scene of "experimental Uruguayan artists who at the time mixed folklore, the avant-garde and pop under the influence of bossa nova and tropicalia."
To me this sounds like an amazing combination of Young Marble Giants and Antônio Carlos Jobim.
