Exhausted couldn't even begin to explain the state you were in; you could tell Vash was as well by the way he was dragging his feet. The two of you had gotten out of a pretty serious gunfight with a persistent bounty hunter, you were both unharmed thanks to Vash’s quick thinking.
“Maybe we should settle down in a hotel for the night.” You said nudging Vash with your elbow into his side, it caused him to lean dangerously to the other and you grabbed his arm to keep him straight. “Are you alright?” you asked, forgetting about your own tiredness for Vash’s.
His metal arm went up to rub the back of his undercut, a sheepish smile on his face. You frowned the smile didn't reach his eyes, “I’m fine, but yeah I think a nice warm bed will be just great!” he seemed so weary, but before you could comment he pulled ahead of you. It gave you know choice, but to follow.
Reaching the hotel, Vash talked to the man at the counter while you stood by. They only had one room for the night. You didn't care, just lucky to even have one, following Vash to the room. You watched him struggle to put the key in, you laughed softly taking it from his hands to unlock the door yourself.
He pouted playfully at you, while you grinned. Your grin fell, once you entered the room to one small bed. You heard Vash sigh, “I can take the floor-”
“No, I'll take the floor.” you interrupted, something seemed off about Vash tonight you’d rather him be comfortable than you. He looked like he was going to argue you brushed him off with a wave of your hand, “Honestly Vash it's fine.”
“We could share.”
Your brain short-circuited at that, only able to stare at him your eyes wide, you recognized the frantic look in his eye when he put his hands up waving them around. “I mean only if you are comfortable! I don't want you to think- I... Never mind.”
Your gaze softened as you let out a light laugh, “Vash it's fine, and yeah let's just share.” he smiled gently at you, the two of you just staring at each other, until you could feel your face heat up, “I’m just going to change!” you squeaked out, rushing to grab your stuff and hide in the bathroom.
Once you had a closed-door in-between you in Vash, you placed your head in your hands. God you were so stupid, yeah let’s share a nice small bed with the man you're hopelessly in love with! Nothing is going to go wrong there. You changed quickly but hesitated leaving it’ll be fine you’ll be fine. Stepping out you noticed Vash struggling to take his jacket off.
“You need some help.” You startled him, he turned around quickly, a slight blush on his cheeks. “It's just my arm...” you stepped forward, staring at his prosthetic, you weren’t sure how it worked and you’d never seen him without it. You paused, weren’t you supposed to take those things off?
“Do you… want help removing your arm?” You said it carefully, unsure, were you crossing a boundary? He looked at you oddly, and you feared you overstepped before Vash sighed, moving to sit on the bed, his hands on his lap. “I don't really like taking it off, I feel to…” his voice trails off but you have an idea of what he is saying.
“Vulnerable?” you asked quietly as he nodded, you moved towards him stopping in front of him. He opened his legs for you, letting you come closer to stand in between them, it made your heart race. You placed one of your hands on his metal arm, “I think we can survive for one night.”
He looked up at you shyly, but nodded. Quietly walking you through the process, you followed his instructions silently. Once you removed the arm, you moved it to the nightstand to leave it there for the night. You joined his side again, moving to stand back in front of him, leaning forward you removed his glasses and begin to help him out of his coat. He placed his hand on your waist, the touch light and hesitant.
“It's fine, I can do the rest.” You met his gaze and smile softly, “Vash, let me take care of you.” You watched his whole face heat up, but nodded, removing his hand from your waist as you helped him out of his coat. You folded neatly and placed it off on a chair to the side.
You turned as Vash moved to lay on the bed, you turned the lights off as you joined him on the other side. He lifted the covers for you, and you got right in, the two of you laying on your backs. You could feel the heat rising to your face.
“It doesn’t hurt, does it?” You asked softly, turning on your side to look at him, Vash turned his head to look at you. He looked a little surprised by the question. At first, you think you say the wrong thing as the silence stretches out between you two.
“Not as much as it used to.” You frown at Vash’s quiet but honest answer, you hesitate for a moment but then decided fuck it and reach your hand over to rest it on his chest, he looks startled from the movement but doesn’t say anything as you speak. “I’m sorry.” and you mean it, you're sorry that people only return his kindness with pain.
You wish you could do something to help ease his pain, even if just a bit. Your face flushes when you feel Vash place his flesh arm over your hand, squeezing it. “You don’t need to feel sorry for yourself.” He says it so sadly, you only huff in response, sitting up on your elbow, to stare down at him.
“I don’t feel sorry for you Vash.” You start as he averts his gaze from yours, he looks soft in the moonlight. “However, I am sorry that this world keeps throwing painful things at you when you don’t deserve it.”
You want him to understand, you need him to feel his hand tremble as if grips your hand tighter. “You understand, don’t you? You don’t deserve hardships all the time.” You being pushy you know you are but, you want him to listen.
Vash takes a stuttering breath, but you wait not rushing him to speak, “deep down a part of me knows that but it’s hard.” His voice is small and it makes your heart ache, how can this wonderful selfish man even think that? “I know it's hard… but you have me, okay? I'll knock some sense into you every once in a while.”
Your words get a slight chuckle out of Vash as he grips your hand again, a light squeeze of his fingers but most likely a silent thank you. Your face begins to heat up as you stare into his blue eyes, they seem softer somehow. “Thanks… you make it easier.” now that just wasn't fair on your heart!
“I want to make things easier, for you I mean…. we are friends, aren't we?” Even if the word friend burns your throat, it’s the truth, he is probably your closest friend and you’re not going to make him uncomfortable by putting a move on him or something…
Vash smiles a real genuine smile that makes you smile along with him, “Yes.” he says it with such convection but you notice a flash of something in his gaze… you don't know how to interrupt right now in your tired state. “Well as I am such a *good friend* I think you deserve a reward for saving us back there.” Vash rolls his eyes; he could only imagine what you are implying.
You open your arms to Vash, “Come here.” Your heart races at his puppy dog look, you’ve already exposed so much to each other tonight what was one more thing? You watch his eyes light up, as he sits up and looks at you. “Really?” his tone is a little too eager you roll your eyes, “Yes Vash come here and cuddle me.”
You barely finish the sentence when he drops his weight on you, his head leaning against your chest and his body settling in between your legs. You were glad Vash couldn't see your face, or he'd see how bright you were. But his weight was welcomed against you; it made you feel secure, and warm. You wrapped one arm around his shoulder, while your other hand settled in his hair running your fingers through it gently.
Once you started scratching at the back of his head, he practically melted into you with a very content sigh that just made you feel so warm and light. If possible, you'd want to stay this way forever… even if Vash probably doesn’t return your feelings, it's fine as long as you can make him feel safe and comfortable in your arms, you are happy. It’s selfish to ask for more… so you will be content Vash needs someone to lean onto without an expectation and you will gladly be that person for Vash.
You weren’t sure how long the celebration had been going on at this point, nor were you sure how many drinks you had either. But they were enough for some courage, your eyes hardly left Vash he was being whisked away constantly. Someone wanted to thank him or buy him a drink. It had worked out for the two of you this time, saving the town instead of things going south.
You smiled every time Vash glanced over at you, a sheepish look on his face. He kept trying to make his way back to you, but someone always kept getting his attention. You looked down at your drink, glancing back up to watch Vash. He was talking with a woman, who was hanging on to every word he said. Leaning into him obviously.
Something burned in your chest, looking away with a sigh. You had no claim on Vash, not one that either of you had put a name to at least. Lingering glances, words not said, soft touches when no one was looking.
Downing the rest of your drink you stood, gripping the bar for a second to stabilize yourself. You needed air, the people and music were getting too loud. You didn't look back as you headed out into the night, you sighed leaning against the railing outside of the bar. The music and people, just turn into background noise. You shivered against the night air, hating that it would get so hot during the day, but freezing at night.
“You alright?” You jumped turning quickly to come face to face with Vash, you immediately relaxed. Leaning your back against the railing and crossing your arms over your chest, you glanced at Vash meeting his gaze shyly. “Just need a moment.”
He let out a hum coming to join your side, placing his hands on the railing and leaning forward, “Yeah it was getting to be a bit much.” Quiet settled over the two as you, as you keep stealing glances at Vash. You turned back towards the bar; the music was picking up again. “Do you want to dance?” You asked it suddenly it had even startled you, Vash picked up his head looking at you curious.
You sobered immediately, what the hell were you doing? Pushing off the railing you yelled out a never mind! You were going to back to the bar to drawn your sorrows. A gentle hand on your wrist stopped you, taking a breath you turned to meet Vash's warm gaze.
“Do you even know how to dance?” he teased gently, and your blushed face heated up. You laughed shaking your head, “Do you?” He shrugged pulling you towards him, you stumbled he caught you against his chest. You dared not look up at him, as he shifted his hands he placed his metal hand on your waist, grabbing your hand with his flesh one. You glanced up timidly as you placed your hand on his shoulder. He smiled, “You can stand on my feet if you want. Just follow my lead.”
Then the two of you were moving, you let Vash lead you in the dance and you followed every move without complaint. You held his gaze, as his own softened when looking at you. He twirled you and you laughed, gaining some confidence the two of you began moving quickly.
Vash swung you every which way, spinning you when he’d get the chance pulling you close every time. “So, you do know how to dance.” You teased; you took pleasure in watching his face heat up. “Erm, just a little!” You smiled shifting your arms to rest around his neck, he didn't break eye contact with you as he moved both of his hands to your waist. The two of you swayed in place,
“You trust me, right?” An odd question,
“Yes.” you didn't need to think twice about your answer.
You yelped as he dipped you, clutching on to him. Vash laughed loudly and freely, staring down at you. You huffed, before laughing. As he brought you back up, he began to move again. You had no choice but to follow, he gripped your hands and began to spin with you. Holding on for dear life, your world spinning around you, focusing only on Vash. He stopped suddenly bringing you into him, and you tripped, hooking your ankle around one of his you both tumbled to the ground.
You landed on your back, as Vash fell on top of you. He caged you in his arms, trying not to crush you with his weight. His face was so close as he hovered above you, on his elbows his one of his legs rested between your own. He was laughing and his glasses were nearly falling off his face, you could only look at him amazed. “Your beautiful you know that?” Your eyes widen clamping a hand over your mouth, Vash stopped and laughed looking at you with such a sad look it made your heartache.
Vash pulled back, but you grabbed him by the collar of his coat, your gaze panicked and voice shaky. “It's true! You are, I'm so lucky to have met you.” your mouth was moving faster than your brain your tone desperate you just wanted to stay with him here in this moment
You’re sure it's the liquid courage, but you move to get a leg around his waist and forcing him to his back with you straddling his waist he lets out a startled yelp, looking up at you dazed and blush the color to rival his jacket. You're still gripping the collar of his coat.
You stare down at him eyes wide, whatever you planned to say to him dies in your throat as you hold his gaze. He moves his hands to your waist, for a second you think he’s going to throw you off, but instead, he just rests his hands there.
“I think I’m the lucky one.” Your heart begins to race, the way he said it so soft, God he would be the death of you. Embarrassed by your actions you fall forward burying your head in his chest.
“Hey! Are you alright?” Vash’s hands fly from your waist to your sides and then to the back of your head.
“M’alrihhr just embraced” you mumbled shivering at his touch. God a part of you wished he just throw you off, a deeper part of you wanted to feel his wandering hands. What has gotten into you? You’ve never been so bold… you really did have too much to drink.
Vash starts to pat your head, “I think it’s time we head to bed.” His voice is soft and caring as it tends to be when he speaks to you. You agree maybe you are just really drunk and tired and that’s why you are acting out or something…
The two of you stay in this position for a moment you resting your head on Vash’s chest and him petting your hair. Trying to compose yourself even just a little bit you do find a way to crawl of Vash and get to your feet nearly losing your balance as you do. Vash stands next and he gives you a soft look you don’t know how to interrupt at least not right now.
“Okay… well I’m going to… sleep,” you say awkwardly turning around ready to walk back to the hotel, until Vash grabs your rest turning you around, he’s smiling it’s an easy-going one a real smile that makes your heart skip a beat. “The hotel is the other way.” his voice is teasing, and you’re just embarrassed all over again, you knew that the hotel was in the other direction… really you did!
Too lost in your drunken state to realize Vash is still speaking, until he says your name and it brings your focus to his lips first then his eyes that he’ll hide behind those mirrored lenses. “What?” is all you can manage to mumble out, “I asked if I could carry you,” Vash said his tone clearly amused, he can’t get drunk so when you do, he finds it only a little entertaining. Well, if you didn’t think you were going to die of embarrassment you were now!
“Yeah… please” You wished your brain worked faster than your damn mouth, he looks surprised at your response then he’s grinning and well you can’t say no to that smile. In this moment you two are standing in front of each other, him with a smile and you flushed trying to avoid his grin and his gaze. And then in the next moment, Vash is giving you a piggyback ride back to the hotel, his grip is secure he wouldn’t drop you even if gunfire rained down on you too.
You can’t help but tighten your hold around his neck, resting your forehead on his shoulder. “I’m really glad I met you…” it's whispered softly to him, but the moment the words leave your mouth he stumbles having to quickly adjust his hold to get a better grip. You hardly notice eyes starting to droop as a sudden tiredness takes over you, closing your eyes knowing Vash will take care of you and get you to bed safely. Falling asleep in his presence is easy, you swear he says something in return… but you aren’t sure as your tiredness catches up to you and you fall asleep still holding on to Vash.

You stood on the precipice of a steep cliff as the wind made the sand swirl around your feet. You were gazing morosely at the sunset, fear and uncertainty pooling in your stomach. Only hours ago Knives had revealed your secret, and you had seen hurt cross Vash’s pretty features as he had looked at you. You don’t know how, but Knives had found out you were a plant, probably having looked into your past in his quest to free all plants. You had broken Vash’s trust, and now you might lose him as a consequence. You recognised the footsteps behind you.
“Are you upset?” You decided to break the silence.
“I just don’t understand. Why didn’t you tell me earlier, y/n? That we were the same?” Vash’s startling blue eyes bore into yours. “Did you not trust me?” he added in a softer voice.
“No- I don’t know. I just couldn’t tell you. Couldn’t tell anyone. I’ve seen how plants are used, are coveted, hunted in this world. I thought it would be wonderful if I could just live as a human, even if it was just a lie.”
Vash stood in silence for a moment, “I think I can understand that. I’ve thought the same way, but I could never stay in the same place for long or Knives would come for them. I had to find a different way to live. At least I could protect and help people instead.”
You smiled ruefully, “That’s what made me follow you in the first place. You were so sure of your principles, your ideals. It was admirable.” Soft pink blush spread across Vash’s cheeks, as he fiddled with his hands.
“Are you going to leave? Now that I know?” He asked. You could hear the fear in Vash’s voice.
You turned to him, surprised. “No? Not if you and the others don’t want me to. I thought you would be upset with me, for deceiving you for so long, even though I knew what it would have meant to you.”
Vash looked introspective for a brief moment, and responded with a soft smile. “No, I understand. You didn’t hide your identity to hurt us. You’re a good person, y/n.”
You felt something unwind inside you and suddenly you felt a lot lighter.
“Good, then. I’m glad.”
“It just never occurred to me that there could be others like me and Knives on this planet. I thought we were all alone after the crash.”
You took his hand in yours. “No, not alone anymore. Never alone,” you confirmed.
Vash looks up to meet your eyes, his eyes brimming with emotion, “You’re right, my fellow plant.” You let out a hearty laugh and open your arms wide, “Come here.” As he shyly stepped closer to you, you pulled him by his mechanical arm into your embrace.
You let a moment pass in companionable silence before pulling away and asking, “You know, I thought you would have figured it out a lot sooner, after being called the ‘Plant specialist’. I mean I suspected you were a plant just days after I met you, especially whenever I saw you fight. Humans don’t move like that.”
Vash shrugged sheepishly, “I guess I’m not very observant I guess? Most independent plants are women. Being a man and all I didn’t expect you to be a plant, at all.”
You tutted. “A bit sexist of you Vash,” you teased. Vash looked panicked, “N-no that’s not what I meant-”
You put a finger up to his plump lips, “I’m joking. Relax.” Vash’s cheeks reddened as you retracted your finger and continued, “Now, you have to tell me, one plant to another. Exactly how old are you?”
Vash put his hands on his slim waist and looked up at the sky recalling his age, “It’s been way too long. Maybe 140, 150 years give or take?” You let out a noise in acknowledgement, and started to walk away from him. Vash tilted his head back down to see your form waltzing away from him. Trying to match his stride with yours he called out, “H-hey you haven’t told me your age. Y/n? Hello?”
Vash stitching up a wound on his s/o and just him taking care of them! Please and thank you!
First, I just wanted to say ugh I’m not good with medical stuff lol I have no idea how stitches work! So, I tried my best, but here ya go! Also established relationship, because I said so!

You don’t know how long you’ve been sitting here in this hotel bathroom with a rag pressed to your brow. Vash didn’t say much when he left you here in search of a med kit, just to keep pressure on the cut, so that’s just what you plan to do. It was a good cut, the knife had barely missed your eye, instead slicing perfectly over your eyebrow and up to your temple. The fight had happened quickly as they always do, you hadn’t even realized you were bleeding until Vash frantically started fussing over you.
With a sigh, you lean back against the sink, pressing the rag harder into the wound. It stings but it's something to focus on, other than the fact that one this will probably leave a scar, and two…. Vash might need to stitch it, and the thought of stitches on your face like that? Gave you the shivers.
Vash walked into the bathroom with a slight smile, holding the med kit up like a trophy, “Front desk had one!” he said cheerfully, but you can tell by the slight rise of his voice that he’s just putting on a show for you. He’s upset about this, you getting hurt. It's not like it was even really your fault, and you doubt he’s actually upset at you, more so the whole situation. Vash places the med kit on the counter, and then pats the counter, “Here sit up here.”
You do what you are told, nerves a little all over to place to argue, he helps you up on the counter, and you spread your legs to accommodate him so he can step closer. “Do you think it will scar?” it's not that your mind, but you don’t know what else to say to him. Carefully Vash grabs your wrist to remove the rag, and he gives you a small smile, “Maybe a little one, but you’ll look just as beautiful” his tone is soft, and you can’t help but roll your eyes good-naturedly.
He was better at this, the softer moments… the sweetness. It was all still so new, and it sometimes made you nervous. “Haha.” You huff out, as he works on cleaning the wound, it stings, but you let him do what he has to. It's quiet again, but it’s not uncomfortable by any means. You ask your next dreaded question, “Will it need stitches?” he pauses, he seems to be thinking his answer over, before giving you a sheepish smile. “Oh…just a few.” You groan leaning back and away, but he doesn’t let you get far with a gentle hand on your shoulder.
“I promise to be as gentle as possible!” Vash reassures quickly, you know he knows how to stitch a wound, that’s not the problem, you trust him…you’re just a little squeamish when it came to needles is all. With another groan you close your eyes, you do not want to see the needle coming towards your face! And place your hands on top of your thighs clenching them into fists. “Just be quick.” Is all you have to say, Vash places a hand over one of yours squeezing it lightly, “I promise to be very careful with your pretty face.”
“Compliments will get you nowhere.” You reply, but you are glad he is simply trying to lighten the mood. As he pulls back with a soft laugh, getting all the supplies ready, you keep your eyes closed. You don’t know how long he takes to get ready, feels like an eternity before he pats your hand again, it’s the only warning you get when you feel the slight pinch of the needle going through your skin, it makes your breath hitch.
“Don’t worry, you are doing just fine Stardust.” He reassures, making sure to keep talking to you during the whole ordeal. You are definitely not listening, your hands shaking and trying not to think about a needle going through your skin, as promised it doesn’t take him very long and you're thankful for it.
“Are you done?” You ask, still not wanting to open your eyes, you don’t know if you’ll be able to handle seeing the stitches in your face, the thought makes you a little sick. “Just let me put a bandage over it,” Vash replies softly, he is very gentle as he covers the stitches with a bandage, you are just glad that it’s all over. You hear Vash place things around the counter, and then your breath hitches when he places his hands on either side of your face and brings you in for a soft kiss.
Letting out a surprised, but pleased hum you lean in to continue the kiss. Once he pulls back you open your eyes, Vash is looking at you gently, leaning in to kiss the bandage lightly which gets a laugh out of you. Hopping off the counter, you turn to face the sink to look in the mirror. Leaning your hands on the sink to look closer at yourself. “Doesn’t look too bad, does it?”
Vash wraps his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder. “Not at all, see I told you I would do a good job!” You meet his eyes through the mirror, it's not like you ever doubted him, you were just…nervous about the whole ordeal in general. Vash kisses your shoulder, he doesn’t say anything for a second, just holding you carefully.
“I don’t like seeing you hurt,” Vash whispers, you don’t say anything for a moment, it was a stupid accident, and neither of you even started the fight this time. It was just the wrong place at the wrong time, that was it. Sighing you think about what to say, “It’s just a small cut Vash, nothing to worry about, it will heal with time.” You tell him gently, Vash just hums holding you tight. You just let him hold you for as long as he needs. Before he pulls back, placing a kiss on the side of your head.
“Let's just lay down for the rest of the night,” Vash says pulling you out of the bathroom and towards, and how could you refuse that? You let Vash lead you over to the bed helping you settle down in the bed, it's not like you need him to do all this. But you know it makes Vash feel better, taking care of you like this, so you just let him.
Once both of you were settled on the bed, Vash pulls you close to himself, just holding you in his arms. You can’t help but smile resting your head on his chest, as Vash runs a hand through your hair. “Thank you.” You say softly, for stitching up your wound, to taking care of you, just all of it “You don’t thank me.” Vash replies placing a kiss on the top of your head.
“I want to take care of you, it puts me at ease.” He continues softly, and his sweet words make your heart race just a little bit faster. Unsure what to say, you just wrap your arms around his waist just keeping as close as possible to him, the two of you hold each other in silence. You can’t keep the smile off your face, as you just enjoy being held by Vash. Yeah, the knife to the face hurt a lot, but ending the night like this? It was just perfect.
I headcanon that Vash hates going into heat. He has to hole up and hide in a motel for like a week or so to ride it out and it’s just so embarrassing for him. And he’s so so so so tired of it, tired of his body, tired of being consumed with want. So I imagine he needs some sort of moral support during this time and reassurance (aside from letting him use you of course 🥰)
He really does!!! He hates feeling like he's inconveniencing others, and the constant itch under his skin for your touch, your lips, your voice... It's not exactly making things any easier.
"Sorry, 'm sorry, please I- mmh!~"
"I've got you, baby. You're so good for me."
He doesn't usually let you service him with no intended return, but you can't deny how much you enjoy the image in front of you. Vash sits slumped in your lap with his back pressed to your chest, head lolled back against your shoulder. One of your perfect hands strokes his slippery, aching cock, the other dips three fingers into the open, hypersensitive sheath beneath it. He writhes and whimpers in your grasp, drooling and panting against your collarbone.
"Cumming... Gonna cum again!"
You brush a kiss against the shell of his ear as he gasps, spilling over his stomach or the umpteenth time that night. "That's it. Feel better, Vash?"
He sniffles out a quiet sob. "Need 'nother... I'm sorry, I need you, please..."
"Oh, baby, please don't cry. I'll give you whatever you need."
a/n: Not requested well sort of some people asked for a part two of ‘Talk about it somewhere only we know’ is this good? lol no Enjoy~ I need more requests ;p; I wanna write for my babygirl so I can avoid writing for my 1000 follower thank you story lol

‘This was bad’ that’s all your unhelpful brain was supplying, well maybe it wasn’t that unhelpful, you knew you needed to move. You couldn’t just keep lying on the desert sand bleeding, it was a good shot, right through the top of your left shoulder a clean shot. You just keep trying to rationalize everything.
Out of your loveable bunch of misfits, you were all used to the idea of being in danger, it just came with the territory. You were so used to patching everyone else up, making sure they were okay. Being on the other end, it was a little scary… again rationally you’d be fine!
But you were in pain, a shout of your name forced you to open your eyes, when had you even closed them? Instead of seeing the blue of the sky above you, your eyes meet the blue of those eyes.
“Vash” you breathe out, you entirely focus on him, his frantic eyes the way his hands hover over your body as if he’s afraid to hurt you even more. Like he ever could. His prosthetic presses into your injured shoulder, he must have found some resolve, you flinch and he looks devastated that he may have even caused you a fraction of discomfort.
You know you need to be doing something, all that first aid training and you’re freezing up at your own injury? Getting your bearings finally, you sit up “Wait.” Vash says a little frantic, but you dismiss his concerns pushing his hand away to press your own hand to the wound it’s really not that bad. “I’m okay Vash really, this will be a quick fix. Help me up?”
He does so, his hands shaking as he grasps your elbows to help you to your feet. His hands hover again, nervous and unsure. He still looks a little frantic, but better. You two don’t exchange many words as Vash helps you back to the shitty motel all of you had been staying in before getting separated and the shootout. Vash helps you on the bed sitting you’re at the edge as he grabs a med kit.
Vash removes your bloody hand, the shirt is ruined so you just rip it so he had access to the wound, ignoring the blush that covers his face. He could be so dramatic. Vash begins cleaning the wound but his hands are shaking, “Vash stop.” You say gently placing your hands over his, “I can do it, it's alright”
“It’s not alright!” Vash says a little loudly, your taken back usually Vash never raises his voice, he has seen the look on your face because he takes a second to breathe, to find his words. “It’s just…I have to do this, I have to take care of you” he says softly, and oh does that make your heart skip a beat. You want to say something, you are going to say something but he continues.
“You take care of all of us, patch us up, make sure we eat everything. And you never ask for anything, please let me do this” Vash holds your gaze softly and you can’t even speak. Holding his gaze you nod, “okay” it’s a stupid thing to say maybe, but no one’s ever said anything like that to you. And it’s caught you completely off guard. So, you let Vash work slowly and carefully he patches your wound until it's perfectly wrapped.
“Thank you” gripping his wrist gently and not letting him get very far, you weren’t going to let him run away this time. The push and pull of your relationship one step closer two steps back, not this time. “Please stay.” The look he gives you…it’s hard to decipher, but he does sit down next to your hands in his lap.
You asked him to stay and now you are at a loss for words, that seems to be the issue between the two of you. The unsaid words, the something hanging between the two of you. Grabbing Vash’s human hand and simply holding it in yours. His hand grips yours, “I never know what to say around you” Vash’s voice breaks the silence, is tone soft and sad. It startles you, forcing you to look at him.
“That’s not true” you start, “I think you don’t give yourself enough credit Vash, you always make me feel better.” You tell him honestly, leaning into him to rest your head on his shoulder. His handshakes in yours, but you don’t let go. It takes a minute but then he rests his cheek on top of your head and you can’t help but smile at the closeness.
“Can we just stay like this…for a while longer” Vash says and you can’t refuse that request, “yeah I would like that” you whisper back, maybe it’s time to finally be brave. “Vash…I– “
“I know. It’s the same for me” Vash interrupts his voice shakes, and he looks away from you blushing and it makes your heart race as you lift your head off his shoulder to look at him. And you laugh, he turns to look at you surprised, “I’m not laughing at you, I promise! It’s just we really are a pair of idiots” Vash smiles and he can’t help, but laugh as well. Leaning back into you and gripping your hand.
You both sat there for a while enjoying each other’s presences and laughing softly, it was nice. You could feel the slight change between you too, and it was nice a Subtle but natural shift. You two probably had more to talk about, but this was nice just leaning against each other and existing. And you wouldn’t mind staying like this for a while, you two could talk more later, right now you would enjoy this moment with Vash.
Hello, I really love your writing! I just wanted to drop a request for Vash taking care of reader who has a headache. Thx.
Love these simple comforts <3
'And your hand touches mine'
Vash x Reader
It's the heat, you can’t help but think miserably. You’d think after living so long on this shitty desert planet you call home the heat would be the last thing to bother you. Yet here you are lying in some shitty hotel room with the curtains drawn and trying to make it as dark as possible. The quiet was helping, the headache started early, just some slight irritation behind the eyes. But the longer you walked, and the longer the sun beat down on you, it only got worse and worse.
It got to the point where Vash forced you to stop walking and tell him what was wrong. You always felt bad inconveniencing Vash, he had so many things to worry about real problems. And here you were, not being able to function with a silly headache.
“It's nothing really.” you say quietly, it almost comes out as a whisper, as Vash stands in front of you with a look of concern, “Are you sure?” ugh, has his voice always been this loud? He wasn't even yelling, but his words just sounded so loud. Lifting your hands to rub your temples, maybe you should answer. The longer the silence hangs between the two of you, the more Vash can tell that it's just not nothing.
“I just have a headache, I'm sure it’ll go away soon.” You say waving one of your hands dismissively, while the other continues to rub your temple, hoping it’ll just go away with some pressure. It wasn't working. Eyes closed you can’t see the way Vash just keeps staring at you, he likes solving problems, but he doesn’t know really how to solve this one. It's not like he can make the headache disappear.
Vash reaches out, touching your check lightly with just a brush of his fingers, “There is a town nearby, why don't we find somewhere to rest for the night? Get you out of the sun.” That sounds simply wonderful so with a slight nod, Vash grabs your hand and has you walk at his side, helping you along.
That’s how you ended up in this room, Vash left a bit ago you are not sure what he was doing, maybe giving you some peace and quiet, he is considerate like that. Maybe you just needed some sleep, it's been a long day and the headache wasn't going away anyway. With a sigh you turn on your side, trying to at least get comfortable.
It's maybe an hour later when Vash comes back to the hotel room, trying to enter as quietly as possible, he sees you resting on the bed and lets out a sigh of relief, it looks like you finally managed to get some sleep after all! Carefully Vash sat on the edge of the bed, placing what he bought on the nightstand, it's not much it's not like this town was even very big, but he found some things that could help with a headache at least!
Carefully, he places his hand on your forehead, brushing the hair that’s fallen into your face. Maybe he shouldn't be so touchy with you, but he can’t help it. He enjoys spending time with you so much, you just make him happy it's that simple. So even if you don't think the headache matters, it matters to him to make you feel better. Vash starts to panic when he watches you frown face twitching, and lifting a hand to rub your eyes, slowly starting to wake up. Oh no did he wake you up?
It's still so dark in the room when you wake, but you can see the soft glow of Vash’s cybernetic arm, his flesh arm hovering in front of your face as if he was going to touch you. “Vash? what time is it?” rubbing some more sleep from your eyes, the headache is still there but not as pounding as before.
“It's not that late, you’ve been asleep for an hour. I got you some aspirin.” Vash says quietly, retracting his hand, hoping he didn't sound awkward, you don't notice his little internal struggle. Just resting back against the pillows with your eyes closed, listening to him fumble around.
“Here.” opening your eyes to look up at Vash’s soft face, he hands you some aspirin and a canteen of water. Taking the pills and the water with a quiet thanks, you swallow the aspirin placing the canteen on the nightstand. “You didn't have to get anything for me,” you say with a sigh trying to get comfortable again, laying back down and closing your eyes.
“I wanted to,” Vash says voice kind, but with a slight firmness to it. You were both similar in the sense it was hard to accept help, and kindness from others. The silence settles over the two of you, not uncomfortable just a nice quiet.
“Can you stay?” the words slip out of your mouth faster than you can catch them, and well now you can’t take them back, placing your hands over your face to dig the heels of your palms into your face. Why did I say that? Is the only thing that can run through your mind. “You know what never-”
“Okay.” you shut up right away at that soft tone, the way he said it. It makes your heart skip a beat; however, you can’t look at him as he lays down next to you. The two of you just resting on your backs, a respectful space between your bodies. With a sigh, you place your hands down at your sides, painfully aware of the person next to you. How the hell would you rest now?
Breath hitching when Vash shyly locks his pinky around yours, “Is….is this okay?” he sounds unsure, and well it makes you smile. He was just as nervous as you were, “More than okay.” you answer honestly. It was amusing, the two of you were strong and could even be dangerous, yet here you were lying next to each other too nervous to speak, too shy to look at each other, locking your pinkies together because anything else would be too much.
And you wouldn't have it any other way, this thing between you and Vash it was scary and exciting, the pace was slow, but it was perfect. Keeping your eyes closed, but not able to keep the smile on your face, sleep comes pretty easily. Right before you drift off to sleep completely, you hear him whisper your name, followed by a good night and the slight grip of his hand in yours.
a/n: I know I haven't been writing as much, work has kept me busy! But I'll try to post on Saturdays because I miss Stampede Saturdays ;p; Happy Pride Month ya'll~
Can you do a vash x reader where the reader is getting overestimed and vash helps them calm down and comforts them?
Me running to write this after my therapy session, In all seriousness lol I did make this being about overstimulated, kinda then it got a little more. I've taken from my own thoughts and feelings for this one, since when I get overstimulated it can spiral out of control for me. No, I didn't just write this about Vash comforting ME shut up. Also, I wrote this a little differently, I wrote this how I feel a panic attack feels. So it may feel a little wild and disjointed, so stick with me <3
‘They see right through, Can you see right through me? I see right through me’
Vash x Reader
You should be celebrating, everyone else was. Why was this so hard, why were you so difficult, why are you so broken? Your mind can’t help but supply that thought to you, and it makes your chest burn it burns hard enough that you can’t even breathe, have you ever been able to breathe?
It was all too much, sitting here in some dark forgotten corner while everyone celebrated around you. Having fun, existing without a problem. Your rag-tag group of friends managed to save this no-name town from bandits, and well instead of being chased from a town like usual, they were drinking and celebrating in your honor. It was a good change of pace for everyone, they deserved this. Did you? Did you deserve any of this, your friends?
Glancing up briefly, you spot Meryl trying and failing to rein in Wolfwood, Roberto at the bar drinking happily, and Vash…. actually, you don't see Vash at all. For a brief moment, all your own worries and fears are forgotten, you hoped he wasn't getting into trouble…. he had an incredible knack for it. You don't think you’ve met anyone with such bad luck.
But then you spot him, shyly accepting praise from those around him, a smile that you can tell isn't fake. And for another moment you find peace in that, if anyone deserves to celebrate its him. You let your senses focus on Vash, just being in his presence was enough for you. Maybe you should get up and join them, you decide to, even going as far as to stand from your seat.
And then that familiar feeling, the doubt, the worry, the fear, it's all too much. It's always too fucking much. The lights, the sounds, the people. It's like you can never be. Never exist in the moment, and every fleeting moment of happiness is ruined by the fact. It's too much and you're too little. You can't be here anymore; without a second thought you turn and leave.
The fresh air is like a Godsend, keep moving, just go, leave it behind. And you do because isn't that the easiest thing you can do for yourself? Gracefully exit the scene, no big productions, a forgotten side character in somebody else's story, because how could the story ever be yours? Your mind is working a mile a minute, it's doesn’t even make sense. You keep walking until you reach the center of town, a lovely fountain sits in the center, it's painfully quiet, and just what you need.
Sitting on the edge of the fountain, leaning forward to grip your head. Begging for it to stop, for just a moment. Why can’t you enjoy anything? This is ridiculous and pathetic, five….no ten minutes tops and then you’ll force yourself to go back. You just need to breathe. This was fine, you’ll be fine.
However, the gentle hand on top of your head startles you, sitting up quickly your gaze quickly connects to Vash’s concerned one. Oh, that’s all you can come up with, because why is he here? Shouldn't Vash be with the others, having fun with people who can understand how to? “Are you okay?” Why does he have to speak to you in that gentle way? Why does he always just know? For a second and because you're a fucking idiot, you're angry. Standing quickly Vash removes his hand to stare at you with a question in his eyes, as his arm falls to his side.
“I’m fine.” Your tone is cold, and straight to the point, his expression shifts, and it's just not fair how can someone possibly look at you like that? Like you hung the stars and the moon? Like your someone to be seen and looked at. “You’re a bad liar did you know that?” his tone is as always kind, but you can sense a hint of something more a plea to be honest with him.
You are like a wild animal cornered; this is not why you ran out here. You don't want to talk, what was the point? Talking didn't fix what was broken inside of you, nothing could fix that. The sound of your name makes you look up, and you tense. Vash stood closer in front of you, not touching you, but if he reached out his hand he could. It was more the look in his eyes that made you freeze, he looked… tired? No, sad? That wasn't the word for it either… was it longing?
“You don't have to pretend with me.”
Is that what you do? Pretend to be a person, pretend that you can make it through the day, pretend that your mind isn't a jumbled mess of too much and too little, and pretend that you're happy. Yeah, you guess he's right. The anger leaves you at once, shoulders dropping. “I don't know what to say.” and isn't that the truth, wouldn’t it be easier if you just could figure it out if you just knew?
Vash’s face lights up, not because you are upset, but because it's the first honest answer he has gotten out of you in weeks. Nervously as if reaching for a wild animal, he reaches a hand out to you palm up. You stare at it, your eyes flickering from his hand to his bright blue eyes. “That’s okay! You don't have to say anything, not right now. Or ever even! I just want you to know…I care… and I get it.” he is rambling in that nervous way he does, his voice cracking a bit at the end you can see the embarrassed blush that sits on his cheeks.
It makes your eyes soften and smile, his hand touches your face then, holding your cheek, and your breath hitches. His thumb rubs the top of your cheek, right under your eye. He’s smiling now too, and oh no, you think you have a new problem now… but one you don't mind facing. Well, you do mind, it's a little scary, but it makes your heart race in a nice fluttery way not the burn you're used to. “It's…hard to explain, I just… everything feels like too much?” You can’t meet his gaze. “Sorry, that makes no sense.” You say this with a small laugh.
Your gaze drifts back to his when his other hand comes up to cup your other cheek, the feeling between his mechanical hand and his flesh hand is… nice. “No, it makes sense, you’re doing great.” The praise makes you blush, yeah this is going to be a big problem, future you are going to have to deal with that one. “Vash, thank you.” it's such a simple thing to say, but you hope he understands.
He does, how could he not? When it comes to you, he’ll do whatever it takes to understand, to just listen. You don’t need to talk or explain anything to him, he’s here and he’ll be here as long as you need it, which he hopes is a long time, because God does he need you.Reaching up with shy hands, you grip his wrists, for the first time all night your mind is settled and at peace. He can’t fix you, because rationally you are not broken. But he helps mend the wounds in your soul, in a way you’ve never felt before, you wish you could tell him just how much you appreciate it, his comfort, the endearing way he acts. You squeeze his wrists, giving him a smile. It feels like the start of something, but right now this moment is enough.
