Venom: Let There Be Carnage short review.
Finally got around seeing this earlier this week and it was also my first time in a theater since last February! Felt good to be back at seeing movies at the big screen.
Anyway the fil does continue Eddie Brock's relationship with Venom and it's as messy as it's shown. Despite being able to work together in the first film you can tell that they're not completely all in with how they do things together which understandably doesn't do Eddie any favors all the time despite the times that it did. It makes for entertaining if not a thematic character arc for both of them.
As for the main villain Cleatus Kasidy AKA Carnage himself I felt they did a solid job with handling who he was in the film with what screen time he has going. It helps that despite the PG-13 rating the film doesn't hold back on Carnage's violent and twisted personality and actions in different areas which does help him stand out a lot from the last film's villain as well as reminding Marvel fans on why Carnage is Venom's most personal nemesis outside of Spider-Man. I'm really looking forward to/hoping for at least one more film in the Venom series to come. Such as having Knull the Symbiote god show up along with other symbiotes such as Scream.
