North Node Synastry Aspects @astrologicallyserene

I've had this post in my drafts for ages and never got around to finishing it so here I am. North Node conjunctions are among the most significant make-or-break aspects in synastry.

We are destined to meet the people in our lives. However, with North Node/South Node conjunction relationships, these are the people we have ultra-specific lessons with. I'm focusing on North Node synastry in this post because that's what I have had the most experience with. These people are soul lessons.

South Node connections have been few and far between for me and I think there's a reason for that related to transcending past karma.

Points to consider:

I prefer a 3.0 degree orb max with synastry (for exactness)

I'm writing about the aspects I have had experience with so if an aspect is missing here, it's because I don't want to speak from a lack of insight

The North Node person is the one who the lesson is specifically tailored for

North Node connected people often fall in and out of one another's lives. There's a sense of impermanence to their dynamic

Moon Conjunct North Node

I've had this aspect with my closest friends. There's this sense of familiarity, safety, and similar temperaments. This can manifest through a shared sense of humor, interests, family dynamics, etc. The North Node person feels like the Moon person is wiser, more evolved, or just aspirational in one way or another. There can be this feeling of inadequacy on the Moon person's part when they weigh themselves up alongside the North Node individual. Like all North Node aspects, these people can fall in and out of our lives, but this happens in a less definitive ending kind of way (no clear breakup or severing of the relationship) here. It's usually that they just grow apart with no hard feelings, but when they reunite, it's like no time has passed.

Mercury Conjunct North Node

This aspect doesn't really manifest as closeness in my experience in the way that the other aspects do. This usually just shows a shared connection rooted in intellect and admiration for each other's minds. North Node sees Mercury as incredibly smart and accomplished, and this is aspirational for them. Mercury, on the other hand, just wants to talk to North Node and soak up their brains.

Venus Conjunct North Node

Oh golly gee. Where do we start? I agree with the overwhelming sentiment in astrology circles that these people do not stay in our lives for long, but the lessons they bring do. North Node learns how they need to be loved through the connection. Venus shows them what this can look like and (sometimes through mistreatment) what it doesn't look like. North Node is torn between wanting to run or stay because something about Venus's magnetism simultaneously scares and attracts them. I've found that North Node is highly addicted to Venus's energy and finds it difficult to quit them even when they're no longer in each other's lives. It's important to recognize that this isn't because of the Venus person themselves, but more so because the lesson Venus brings is so transformative.

Saturn Conjunct North Node

North Node, if not Saturnian (no Saturn aspects or capricorn/10h placements), can view the Saturn person as a weight on their energy. This can show up in different ways. For one, Saturn can be kind of a restrictive/disciplinarian force in North Node's life. Kind of like a parent who tells you in what areas you need to grow up or temper your enthusiasm. In a positive manifestation, Saturn brings a healthy dose of realism and pragmatism to North Node's life. Negatively, this can be Saturn being highly critical of the North Node or just making them feel small.

I don't know if our modern society truly knows what "freedom" really is. Even in the free societies of the world an oppressor is always present. Whether that be your nosy neighbor, a tyrannical boss, a limiting health condition, or a society that totally degrades you (i.e. Afghanistan and Women), there always seems to be someone trying to invade our sovereignty.

But given the Neptune/Saturn conjunction at 0° Aries, and today's New Moon Solar Eclipse at 28° Aquarius (at 7:01am ET), the tools to manifest your freedom are definitely there.

But not without some kind of disruption; dare I say a personal revolution.

Eclipses are Lunar events that astrologers believe bring in fated turning points. They create circumstances where "destiny" can unfold, or that karma is revealed. But eclipses also require that you interpret them thru the Lunar Nodes for the fullest context.

Today, decide you are free. Even if you are in a suffocating 9 to 5 job, or living in less-than circumstances.

Because NONE of those circumstances change until you decide internally that you are free. Because internally is the only place the oppressor cannot invade, and will only gain access with your permission.

mercury just passed by here recently and is preparing to go retrograde. so for venus to trace over the same steps presently, things likely feel Weird. it's okay to revert to some old fashion choices you've long since ditched, but stop and think before you go try on your old relationship patterns. maybe it's fine, but give it due consideration first.

hello!! i hope ur having a great day! i wanted to ask what you thought about a man’s north node conjunct a woman’s mars with his venus conjunct her north node.

Heyy sorry I’m not that good at synastry i literally just started getting into it fr this year 😭

But i will take an educated guess lol

His north node conjunct her mars = there’s mutual attraction, but the woman could be more attracted to what the man could potentially be in the future and not necessarily who he is now. Meaning, she may be physically attracted to him but when it comes to who he is overall as a person plus physically, he may only have bits and pieces of what she desires. He has to actively work on himself daily to be the full package for her, whatever that looks like.

Same with his Venus conjunct her north node= mutual attraction but the north node person(her) has to actively work on themselves to become 100% desirable to the planet person(him). Or else there will be doubts and hesitation on the planet person’s side.

But either way, the nodal person has to be careful about not trying too hard and pretending to be someone they’re not in order to appease and become desirable to the planet person.

I feel like people hype up nodal synastry but in my opinion, in order for it to work the person has to be able to balance the south and north node energy in their own lives first and foremost.
