Nekk; the armourer & merchant .|| Verla; the greeter & motivator.|| Haaa, finished all the villagers! This was really fun! I am quite excited to tackle now the main birds themselves. I know the last posts I haven't tackled much lore but these guys were quite simple.

Nekk, is someone who is dedicated into making armors although helps Cecili- by making the warm sheets and pillows. As he laments that Vah Medoh's presence might have lowered the visitors staying by the inn thus lowering his commissions. Verla, on the other hand is a greeter- but unlike the others is quite engaging and motivates Link to reach the elder. He also shows admiration for the fallen Champion.

Do you have an opinion on Verla?

I actually liked Verla as a character a lot, because I felt a ton of sympathy for her all while the narrative was also showing how wrong her path was, how much pain she was inflicting because of her own pain. As Verla says:

"Vader and his blasted Inquisitors chased me all across the galaxy, just because I had a touch of the Force. Because I might have been a Jedi someday. My life was hell. Goodbye, son of Vader. I hope it hurt." Verla serves as both a victim of Vader and the Empire as well as a character who shows why you have to do Jedi training right or else you fall into the dark side so easily, because she wasn't raised as a Jedi, she only had Ferren Barr, who himself had fallen away from the philosophies and teachings of the Jedi we saw in the prequels, who was no longer a Jedi by both his own and Vader's admission. This was a bad path for Verla, because she didn't have the discipline or tools necessary for this life, then you add in that she was hunted down just for the way she was born, that she was part of the Empire's genocide against the Jedi Order despite never having actually been one, and it stayed with her, that hate and fear and pain and darkness. So much so that she wanted this young man to hurt when he died. Verla as a character is a perfect illustration of why Jedi training cannot be slapdash or done without being very serious about it and done right (which it very much was not), but also a perfect illustration of what the Empire forced onto people through no choice of their own. Her pain and suffering are real, but they do not cancel out the things she does and it makes me ache for who she could have been, had the Jedi Order not been murdered, the real training and community she could have had, that would have led her to a path in the light, while also making me ache that she had to go through something that wasn't her choice at all and how it twisted her. Verla shows how much it wasn't about what the Jedi did or didn't do, but simply the way they were born. Because she was never a Jedi, she was just born the way they were, and that was enough. There was never any avoiding what Sidious wanted to do to them, because none of that mattered when you see he did the same exact thing to Verla, made her the exact same kind of victim.

Author’s note: Ahhhh, it's finally Christmas day! Thank goodness. Although, there ended up being so much happening that I've broken it into two chapters, so there's still more Christmas to come.
