I am back home and helping the L.A. county Health Department and OSHA to perform a thorough investigation by documenting my statement, my work experience, and have a physical examination to check for Hantavirus or other related diseases.

Anyway, I will be home recovering from the ordeal and might need some time to decompress, but I will have more free time to write in the foreseeable future.

TL;DR- RAT INFESTATION, RAT FECES AND URINE AND SOILED NESTING MATERIAL ALL OVER FOOD PREP AND KITCHEN AND DRY STORAGE, THEY NEVER GAVE US ANY PROTECTIVE GEAR, WHITE CAMP STAFF TREATED ME LIKE A LITERAL SLAVE AND WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT OR SPEAK TO ME... Amongst other issues.

It was an utter nightmare, I cried and had a literal emotional breakdown FIVE DAYS into my employment.

Just glad I took photos and documented everything ;)

So last night I heard something fall over in my room. I turned on the flashlight app on my phone, shined it into the corner to see if it was a big deal...

...and found myself staring into the soulless black eyes of a goddamned mouse.

I am not afraid of mice, per se. I really don’t mind them in a pet sense, or in a wild field-mouse sense. But apparently field-mice and room-mice ping two different levels on my anxiety radar.

Anyway, no sleep is being had in that room right now. The living room couch is too short but also I have never seen a mouse in the living room, SO.

Also we have rigged a trap. It’s a tall metal trash-pail, with a wooden board leading up over the lip, and a bunch of the dog’s kibble at the bottom. Ashley brilliantly painted the inside of the can with coconut oil, so that a) the mouse can’t get out once it falls in, and b) my room smells like macaroons.
