Lil Guardsman Release Date Announcement

Hilltop Studios and Versus Evil's Lil Guardsman is a point-and-click deductive puzzle game in which you play as Lil, who's just trying to keep The Sprawl safe.

Lil Guardsman launches for PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on January 23, 2024.

Publisher Versus Evil and developer Hilltop Studios have announced Lil’ Guardsman, a deduction adventure game inspired by the classic point-and-click genre coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam in 2023.

In this deduction adventure, you play as Lil—an unlikely 12-year-old hero—covering your dad’s shift at the guard shed and are tasked with deciding the fate of over 100 unique characters.

You will question humans, elves, goblins, cyclopes, and other fantasy creatures using your powers of deduction to determine who to admit or deny based on how they respond to your questions and your trusty tools. Sending visitors to jail, inadvertently zapping them to smithereens, or letting them go on their merry way are all part of the job. But be careful: who you let through the castle gates will determine the kingdom’s fate.

Developer: Tim Conkling Publisher: Versus Evil Rrp: £10.99 (Humblebundle) £11.99 (Gog.com, Steam) Released: 10th July 2017 Available on: Humblebundle, Gog.com, Steam I have to admit I have a soft spot for turn based strategy games, especially ones that have a unique aspect to them and Antihero is definitely one that falls under the 'unusual' category. You take control of a thieves guild and match wits against other opponents that are trying to carve out their own piece of the city (that totally isn't Victorian era London even though you see the Elizabeth Tower). It all starts with your Master Thief, they're the main unit you'll use with their abilities to scout, burgle and occasionally murder.

Through your burglarious actions you'll gain gold and lanterns. Lanterns are used to unlock and upgrade units which in turn are recruited using the gold. There aren't many unit types to deal with (even once all the units are available) and each has their own specific purpose. The aim of the game is to complete all the missions that you're given on a map, this is usually done by doing a objective. Objectives can vary quite wildly but typically they include murdering a specific target or targets, collecting blackmail or by purchasing a bribe.

I have to admit I really like this game, in some ways it has a similar feel to an older game called Chaos Overlords. Although this is a LOT more light hearted in its humour and the gameplay is less clunky. This is going to sound a little strange, especially given the PC centric focus of my reviews but this game would be perfect on a tablet device. Especially considering that it already features a two player hotseat and online skirmish mode.

The Banner Saga

Спустя четырѣ года взялся за The Banner Saga. Первую часть одолелъ за пару вечеровъ. Послѣ прохожденiя отметилъ следующiе момѣнты.

Потрясающая анимацiя и дизайнъ, напоминающiе старые мультфильмы. Великолепный саундтрекъ Остина Уинтори, погружающiй въ атмосферу скандинавскихъ мифовъ.

Нелинейный проработанный сюжетъ, оставляющiй желанiе перепройти и выбрать другiе варианты прохожденiя. Кромѣ того, можно перенести свои решенiя во вторую часть.

Впечатляющiй лоръ, раскрывающiйся во врѣмя прохожденiя и изученiя гигантской карты мiра. Не всѣ мѣста на картѣ можно будетъ посетить, но впереди ещё двѣ части.

Добротная тактическая система, интересные бои. Классная система съ управленiемъ собственнымъ караваномъ: необходимо следить за количествомъ людей, ихъ настроенiемъ и обеспечивать всехъ провизiей. На прохожденiе ушло чуть меньшѣ 15 часовъ. 

Пропускать такiе шедевры нельзя. The Banner Saga портирована на всѣ популярныя платформы.
