dont take it the wrong way, but I only heard Americans answer this question like that lol. Someone ask me that question, ill say im Canadian. They have to ask me about my ancestors to know my ethnicity. :)

Well, my blog specifically states I’m a New Yorker, so it can already be inferred I’m American. And, considering I had just posted a picture of myself when I received this ask, one could assume anon was asking purely about my genetic makeup. Which is what I answered. :)

I don't think the maid's outfits are used to particularly appeal to male or female players. It's just typical maxis humour, the cliché French maid and an equaly provocative male counterpart.

Oh, I agree it’s supposed to be “humor,” and I agree they were trying to be egalitarian in their stereotypical, cliched sexism. But I just think they kind of did it wrong. And I still want eye candy for me that I don’t have to make myself. ;)

I agree with the "all male development team" as the reason. I'm convinced the maids are supposed to be caricatures of porn characters. It's also no accident all the delivery drivers are Romance. Now if only the repairman was hot and swaggering...

Really? The delivery drivers are Romance? I did not know that, but it’s pretty funny. Because, yeah, they were hitting the porn tropes, weren’t they? The hot domestic servant. The hot UPS guy/mailman. Maybe even the hot gardener/pool boy, I suppose. But...Yeah, they totally screwed the pooch on the hot repairman/cable guy trope. Instead, they made the repair people...elders. And not very attractive ones. And I doubt they meant to do granny porn.

Geez, these guys really are the type who live in their parents’ basements and download porn from the internet all night, aren’t they? *laugh*

too many men making the game thinking sexy women are always good regardless of who the audience.

Yeah, I guess it makes sense that male game developers would come up with this. *eye roll* I would have at least thought that Maxis would have some market research about who their audience was, but...Well, if they did, I guess the folks who did the programming and made the models and stuff just didn’t care. I do think they were trying to be “equal opportunity” by having the guy in a “provocative” outfit, too, but if the male maids were supposed to be as “attractive” as the French maid chicks, then...Well, obviously those guys had no idea about what women generally find attractive, did they?
